The Real Housewives of Orange County star Heather Dubrow is currently in New York City for press appearances.
While there, she is staying at the Four Seasons Hotel, which is well known as a luxury brand.
Heather, 57, took to TikTok to show that the blackout shades in her room were actually pieces of cardboard with duct tape.
“So Terry just goes, ‘Heather, come in the bedroom and look at how they – he put up the shades, and the blackouts are on. Look at this. Look at the blackout shade,'” she said.

Heather continued, “This is the Four Seasons Hotel. By the way, the room’s a fortune. It is cardboard and duct tape. And all of the flowers are fake. I mean, have we fallen on hard times, Four Seasons? I mean, this is no Jeff Leatham situation, I’ll tell you that. Oh my God.”

Soon after Heather’s post, a woman named Emily L. made a response to explain what was going on in Heather’s room.
“This is the work of the US Secret Service,” she claimed. “I did a bunch of work for the Biden-Harris administration, and sometimes Secret Service cannot get the bulletproof glass they need to cover up windows. And when that’s the case, they can’t have the windows in their usual transparent state, so they have to put up something to cover the windows. This happens when the president is somewhere, the vice president is somewhere, there’re places with big windows, the team is all spread out, and they don’t have enough bulletproof glass to adequately cover windows.”
“And this is what happened here, or something very similar,” Emily added. “A high-profile person was in this room, they had to do a slapdash coverage approach, and housekeeping didn’t look and didn’t take it off. This is 100% what happened. This is so niche. Folks who have worked in this world, you know I’m right, weigh in.”
Heather returned to TikTok to talk about Emily’s video.
“Someone posted a video stitching my video and saying that the reason the cardboard and the duct tape was on the windows in my room is because that’s what the Secret Service do,” Heather stated. “So apparently, if they don’t have bulletproof windows or glass or something, they do that to just black out the windows. Isn’t that crazy? And then I was talking to the manager here at the Four Seasons, who’s lovely by the way, and he told me that ’cause the UN was just meeting, and there were people staying here – we don’t know who – but clearly, that is what happened.”
She noted the mystery had been solved and that the staff of the hotel had “bent over backwards” for them.
“And that is that,” she added. “Isn’t that crazy? But by the way, the Secret Service only has cardboard and duct tape? Can we unpack that for a second? Budget cuts! Budget cuts!”
Later, she came back once more to TikTok to show that she’d gone out and returned to a room with “appropriate blackout” curtains and fresh flowers.
