Kelli Potter revealed her terrifying crash after the steering wheel “failed” and she and her boyfriend crashed “head-on FULL SPEED.” The Real Housewives of Atlanta star said her “life flash[ed] before my eyes,” as she addressed her broken bones.
Though Kelli kept her boyfriend Jarvis away from cameras last season, fans saw a glimpse of him at the reunion. She explained that Jarvis is not his real name but an alias.
“Yesterday was the scariest thing I’ve ever experienced,” said Kelli in an October 12 Instagram post. “A gentleman took [my boyfriend Jarvis] and me for a ride in a ‘jet ski car’ – During the ride, the steering failed, and we crashed head-on FULL SPEED into the reefs.”
“I literally saw my life flash before my eyes,” she explained. “Two broken bones later… we made it back home safely from the Bahamas. I’m just THANKFUL for God, My Man, & everyone who took care of us.”
Kelli shared that her foot is now “broken,” as she shared a photo of the cast.
“We will have story time later,” she said, before adding cryptically, “@firstclasswatersports (plz do the RIGHT THING).”
Back in May, Kelli shared an update on her coparenting relationship with ex-husband Mark.
“We are working on it,” she told Daily Dish at the time. “We still have some court issues that are going on. … And hopefully, God willing, my girls still talk to him all the time. And hopefully we will come to some clarity in regards to when they will see him.”
“My girls are great,” she added. “Oh my God, they’re so good. … Chloe is working it at Spelman, honey. She is having the best time of her life. … Chance is thriving. And the twins are just doing what twins do. Breaking mommy’s pockets. But everyone’s good….Everybody is happy and doing well. We look forward to the summer and vacationing, and spending some time with mommy, and just having some good mommy and me vacations coming up.”
She also said it feels good to change her last name back to Potter (her married name was Ferrell).
“It feels really good,” she explained. “I didn’t realize how much it would affect me until going back to it, and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, it feels so good just to be back to myself.’”
