Ramona Singer had an awkward argument with Kelly Bensimon in the middle of an interview after Kelly said Bethenny Frankel was “not invited” to join E!’s The Golden Life. At one point, Ramona told Kelly to stop “talking over me.”
Ramona, Kelly, Luann de Lesseps, Dorinda Medley, and Sonja Morgan recently filmed the spinoff, which premiered this week. They all have filmed Real Housewives of New York City in the past with Bethenny, who left the show twice. One of the most well-known scenes was a fight between Bethenny and Kelly on “Scary Island” during a cast trip.
On SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio, Kelly addressed the speculation that Bethenny has been toying with the idea of joining The Golden Life.
“No, no, no,” said Kelly. “She’s not invited–”
“Excuse me!” said Ramona. “I’m gonna interrupt. I’m sorry. I’m friendly with Bethenny. Number one, she’s too busy to come.”
“No, no, no. She’s too performative,” Kelly continued. “She’s not like a real reality star. She’s just very sensationalistic, and I don’t want to be on a show where someone is sensationalistic.”
“Well, I actually invited her to come on! Just so you know, as a guest,” said Ramona. “And she said … ‘I don’t want to come on as a guest. If I come on, I want to be paid.'”
“Okay, well that’s nice of you,” said Kelly. “And you guys can do that. Go forth and prosper.”
“You’re talking over me!” said Ramona.
“Sorry,” Kelly responded.

Earlier this month, Ramona told Us Magazine that she’s now a “peacemaker,” as she shared why she almost didn’t join the main cast.
“I said [at the time], ‘Well, I don’t know. I’m living my fullest life, my best life. … You know what? I’ll come on as a friend. I don’t want to be a full cast member and have that responsibility of filming so much. It would interfere with my social life and my athletic life and my traveling plans,’” Ramona recalled. “I’m more of a peacemaker now.”
“Because I care. I care about my friends,” Ramona added. “I want them to get along. I don’t like, you know, blatant anger and meanness.”
