A source is now claiming that Amanda Batula doesn’t think she’s “going to continue filming” In the City, as another insider is addressing those claims.
After last season was filmed, Amanda announced her controversial relationship with Ciara Miller’s ex-boyfriend West Wilson, which angered many fans and castmates due to Amanda and Ciara’s close friendship. Though it was recently reported that Amanda won’t be filming In the City as a full-time cast member, it was hinted that she could film scenes with her estranged husband, Kyle. Earlier this year, both Amanda and West exited the original show, Summer House (which recently finished filming).
According to Bravo and Cocktails, a source said they spoke to Amanda at a recent football game.
“[Amanda] said she had started filming but it is feeling very forced because it is Kyle and Lindsay’s friends,” said the source. “She said she doesn’t think she is going to continue filming.”
“She did say her and Kyle are good,” they added. “Also West was very attentive to her. They seemed genuinely happy together!”
Meanwhile, however, a source told Queens of Bravo a slightly different story.
“While there are rumors currently circulating that Amanda is on the verge of quitting from In The City, a very reliable source recently let slip to me that Amanda Batula hasn’t even filmed a single second for the next season,” said the account on Threads.
Back in June, a source told Us Weekly the alleged reason why Amanda was not asked back to Summer House.
“Amanda was not invited back to season 11,” said the insider, who shared that execs believed it wouldn’t “be a fun summer” if she was there, given that the star doesn’t have “organic relationships with the rest of the cast.”
“[Amanda] wants to focus on her mental health [after the reunion],” another insider added. “Amanda doesn’t feel those are her genuine friendships anymore and wants to focus on her next chapter and what that looks like. [She] and West are at ease that they will not be on the show. They are both OK with moving on.”
