Katie Ginella took to her Instagram Story on Wednesday to share some upsetting news about her husband, Matt Ginella.
In a post shared to her fans and followers, the 41-year-old Real Housewives of Orange County star included a photo of herself and Matt, revealing that after experiencing pain in his side, Matt ended up hospitalized for days after blood clots were found in his lung and in his legs.
“[Four] days ago Matt told me he was having a lot of pain on his side. He went to urgent care and was immediately sent to the ER. They discovered blood clots in his lung and legs. So much pain, tests and long nights in the hospital. It’s been scary, but we’re beyond grateful for the incredible care at [Hoag Health],” Katie wrote in the caption of her September 17 message.
“He’s home now and on the way to recovery,” she added.
As RHOC fans may have seen, Matt has been making headlines for the past several weeks due to his falling out with Slade Smiley, 51. As Katie’s claims about what Gretchen Rossi, 46, told her about her “naked wasted” incident with Tamra Judge, 58, played out on the show, Matt appeared on an August episode of Don’t Let It Stu, where he recalled a phone conversation he had with Slade.
“These are his exact words: ‘Katie might have just sealed her own fate … She told Kiki Monique what we told you guys the night of Maestro’s [with Jennifer Pedranti and Ryan Boyajian], and now it’s getting back out to the group. This is really bad,'” Matt recalled.
Although Katie said that Gretchen had claimed she was roofied and hospitalized during their dinner with Jenn and Ryan, Gretchen denied saying she was drugged and claimed she never went to the hospital. Meanwhile, Slade made an effort to silence Katie and put an end to the false story.
“‘You need to call Katie, and you essentially need to have her hold the line and say it wasn’t said,’” he allegedly told Matt.
