The Real Housewives of Miami could be without two of its full-time cast members when the series returns to Bravo for its potential eighth season.
Following a report that suggested that only Alexia Nepola, 58, Larsa Pippen, 51, Lisa Hochstein, 43, Stephanie Shojaee, 40, and Marysol Patton, 58, had been confirmed for the upcoming season, an insider has alleged that two of the remaining cast members are “on the chopping block” as Bravo hunts for more Latina housewives.
“Julia Lemigova and Guerdy Abraira are on the chopping block,” an insider told OK! Magazine on September 23, noting that Bravo “wants more Latin Americans” on the show.
“Guerdy and Julia don’t fit that profile,” they added.
While nothing has been made official quite yet in terms of season eight contracts, final decisions “are expected to be made … after the reunion airs” in October.
The latest casting news comes on the heels of a casting report from Bravo and Cocktails, which claimed Alexia, Larsa, Lisa, Stephanie, and Marysol were “essentially locked in for next season.”
As for Guerdy, 47, and Julia, 53, as well as Adriana De Moura, 59, and Kiki Barth, 36, they were reportedly “on the bubble.”
“Their contracts haven’t been finalized and producers are still deciding whether to keep them,” the outlet explained earlier this month. “It’s likely that 2 of the 4 won’t be back.”
Although it was alleged that Guerdy was the most likely of the four to be brought back, the outlet explained that the cast didn’t “fully gel with her” as it described Adriana as “disengaged” and signaled to the “fan backlash” Julia received after throwing a drink at Guerdy earlier this season.
“As for Kiki, her spot on the bubble has more to do with balancing out the cast divide and because her personal storyline hasn’t really resonated with viewers as much as viewers hoped,” the outlet added.
The Real Housewives of Miami season seven airs Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
