Nia Booko opened up about her husband Danny‘s drinking habits and the biggest misconception people have of him during an interview on Friday.

As she also reacted to Lala Kent, 35, calling him out, revealed where she stood with Janet Caperna and Brittany Cartwright, 37, and confirmed which of her co-stars she was closest to on The Valley, Nia, 36, shared her thoughts on the reality TV curse and clarified whether she felt Danny, 42, should quit drinking.

“That’s what a lot of people are saying, and I see that perspective. I, personally, like, when we’re in those moments, I don’t like them … but then, like, for example, we were out a week ago with like [Lacy Nicole], [Jesse Lally], [Zack Wickham], [and Scheana Shay], like we’re all out at the bars and like, everybody’s drinking, including me and Daniel. There’s no problem,” Nia explained during a May 29 interview on Access Hollywood’s Housewives Nightcap.

She added, “I just don’t like those moments … and I wish they didn’t happen. [And] it’s a bummer because obviously the audience is seeing those worst moments, and cast members are painting that as like, a lot of who he is, and that’s not who he is.”

According to Nia, the biggest misconception about Danny is that his bad moments define him.

“I think people are right that there’s moments that are not good. I’m not trying to hide or cover up or pretend that that’s not happening. Those moments are happening, and they’re not great. That’s just not who he is as a whole and who he is 99.99 percent of the time,” she shared. “When you’re on reality TV, everything feels and is bigger, and audiences are passionate, and I get it, but Daniel’s an amazing man, an amazing husband, an amazing father. He’s so supportive. He’s loving. He’s there for me in all of my ups and downs … And he’s there for me more than what’s shown.”

While many believe that reality TV leads to divorce, Nia said she didn’t subscribe to the idea, and she noted that if she ever felt that her and Danny’s marriage was being negatively impacted by The Valley, she’d quit.

“I’ve always said if I ever felt like it was actually damaging our marriage, I would pull the plug immediately,” she revealed. “Our home life is this beautiful bubble of love and joy and happiness and silliness with our kids. And it’s so great. And so there is a lot of stress that comes along with reality TV. At the same time, I’m grateful for the platform and the way that some women have shared that they’ve been able to relate to what I’m experiencing.”

Moving on to Lala, Nia confirmed she did not think that Lala overstepped when she highlighted Danny’s treatment of her.

“I actually don’t. I know I kind of said that … but I think it also kind of depends on the friendship and the dynamic because if it was [Kristen Doute] coming in, I’d be like, ‘Come in, girl. Let’s handle this.’ And Lala and I are not that close. But as a woman, I get what she was saying and where she was coming from,” Nia reasoned. “If it was a similar situation, I probably would have done the same thing.”

As for Janet, Nia said that despite their ongoing feud, the two of them “can coexist.”

“We can be in the same room. It’s all good. We are not friends. I don’t know if we ever will be. But we can be in the same room, and we’re fine,” she shared. “We have the same friend group, so we’re gonna be around each other.”

Although the midseason trailer hinted at drama between Nia and Brittany, Nia confirmed they were “good.”

“I think real friendships, true friendships, have some ups and downs, but it’s that you choose your friend and you choose to work through it. So Brittany and I are so good,” Nia revealed. “I love Brittany, and we are great friends, and she’s so sweet. We’ve had our moments, but I value friendships that have harder moments, and you either choose — we’re adults — you either choose, ‘No thank you,’ or ‘I want to be your friend, and I’m going to keep working it through with you so that we can be great friends.’”

Also during the interview, Nia was asked which co-star she was closest to.

“Kristen and I, love her. I’m very close with Lacy. Brittany, [Jasmine Goode], [Melissa Marie]. Obviously, Zack is a bestie. He’s one of the girls, too. But I would say Kristen, Lacy, Brittany, and Jasmine are like, my core,” she replied. “I love [Michelle Saniei, too]. I haven’t talked to her as much lately … [because] our schedules have not been connecting.”

The Valley season three airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
