West Wilson reacted to the criticism he’s received since going public with Amanda Batula on a recent episode of his podcast, as he also disagreed with Amanda when it comes to their co-stars monetizing their romance scandal.

As he shot down claims of being a “clout-chaser” and “super calculated,” admitted that dating Ciara Miller, 30, would have been beneficial to him, and shared his thoughts on his Summer House castmates profiting off “Scamanda,” West, 31, admitted that while his patterns “deserve criticism,” other allegations against him are false.

“The patterns and dating style do deserve criticism, like a lot of criticism, but there’s some things where it’s kind of like, what are we doing here? I mean, the whole like, I’m a clout chaser thing with influencer friends that everyone was stuck on, my main friend group in New York is made up of zero influencers,” he clarified on Show Me Something.

“I have, like, a few influencer friends and have hung out with some influencers in New York because that’s the, like, career that we all share, but every single one of my best friends in New York City are friends I’ve known since before the show started. That part’s always confusing to me,” he added.

As for the idea that he is a “clout-chaser,” West suggested that if he were, he would’ve chosen Ciara over Amanda.

“Wouldn’t the most clout-chasing move be to like date Ciara? That would clearly benefit me more than any other decision I’ve ever made,” he noted.

He then fired back at claims of being “super calculated.”

“If I was calculated, I wouldn’t be in this f*cking mess. I’m in this mess cuz I’ve made mistakes and, like, f*cked around too much. If I was calculating and trying to do the right thing, I would’ve just dated Ciara,” he explained. “That will never make sense to me, but people are angry and have shit to talk, so that’s what the reunion is for.”

Regarding his co-stars monetizing off “Scamanda,” West said he “didn’t really give a f*ck” after Amanda made it clear during part two of the Summer House reunion that she found it hurtful when referencing an ad co-stars Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke did together. She says that’s something she would have never done to them.

“That’s what the show is. That’s what everyone does,” he reasoned. “To me, I’m kind of like, ‘Oh, if you guys are making jokes for money out of it, then you seem to be doing okay.’ I’m never gonna like, cry about someone else making money. That’s like, the whole reason the show exists.”
