Days after Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore shut down a report that she had quit the show, new reports today are revealing Bravo might be gearing up to fire her!
Sources close to RHOA’s production team reveal that it wasn’t Kenya’s choice to not go on the current cast trip to Spain with her costars but rather Bravo’s decision.
See the previous report had stated Kenya refused to go on the trip after giving Bravo an ultimate to dis-invite Kim Zolciak. The network apparently gave in but then Kenya demanded Marlo Hampton also not be invited which Bravo refused. This reportedly resulted in a big blowout between Kenya and RHOA producers during which she allegedly got her lawyers involved.
Production sources are however spinning a different tale today telling TMZ that Bravo was the one who decided Kenya would not go on the cast trip with her castmates as punishment for not getting her husband to film. Yikes. Really Bravo?!
Apparently Bravo told Kenya she needed to film scenes with her new husband Marc Daly leading up to the trip, and when Kenya couldn’t produce (her husband reportedly wants no parts of doing the show), they decided to block her from traveling.
Indeed TMZ reported back in July that Bravo had given Kenya an ultimatum that she needed to film scenes with her husband or risk being phased out from the hit series. It now appears they are doing the later by phasing her out.
As we reported, a day after Kenya failed to travel with her castmates, Bravo hired model Eva Marcille as a friend of the Housewives. It seems with the hiring of Eva and this leaked story to TMZ, the network is either trying to replace Kenya or attempting to put pressure on her to convince her hubby to start filming.
As for why Kenya’s husband Marc, a NYC restaurateur and businessman, doesn’t want to film, a source tells Us Weekly he’s simply a private person.
“Her husband is a former investment banker who has never sought the spotlight,” the source reveals. “However, he wants to support his new bride and her career … apparently not fast enough.”
The insider also seems to confirm that Bravo is indeed trying to pressure Kenya into filming with Marc.
“Kenya was pulled from the cast trip last-minute and Bravo may be playing a bit of hardball to get Kenya’s new husband on the show by limiting her on-air appearances,” the source adds. “Kenya is a newlywed and has to respect her new husband’s wishes to not be part of the show.”
The story takes a sad turn as apparently the stress of this all is taking a toll on 46-year-old Kenya who is trying to conceive.
“Kenya has been trying to have a baby and the stress has caused her unnecessary emotional distress,” adds the source.
