MTV has fired Teen Mom 2 star David Eason following some homophobic comments he made on Twitter.
Just moments ago, the network released a statement announcing the firing of Eason, who is married to Jenelle Evans.
“David Eason’s personal comments do not reflect the views of MTV. With six weeks left of production on ‘Teen Mom 2,’ effective immediately, we are ending our relationship with him,” said MTV in a press release on February 20.

This comes on the heels on recent homophobic tweets by Eason on his Twitter page. The drama however began last week after Eason and Evans shared a photo of Evans shooting a massive gun just hours after the high school shooting in Florida. Fans were outraged but Eason refused to back down and instead made the photo of Evans firing the gun his profile photo on Twitter.
And then earlier this week on February 19, after a Twitter user made a comment about the mother of three having “unnecessary weaponry” around her house, Eason fired back at the woman.
“What makes you think you have the right to tell me how to be a parent. Because you think you know me? LMAO why don’t you go tell the homo and transgender parents to start teaching their kids better morals? Oh I forgot that’s supposed to be normal,” he wrote in now deleted tweets.
After Eason’s posts were shared, a number of Teen Mom stars shared their thoughts on Twitter.
They need HELP! Something needs to happen! This is all disturbing to say they least, but not surprising! https://t.co/h662cEMuLN

In the meantime, I suggest you all report @davideportcity to @Twitter for the racist, homophobic hateful garbage he is posting.

This is not the example we should be setting for our youth. I have many trustworthy and hardworking individuals that are Gay and Lesbians. They are outstanding individuals. I proud to have them on my team. This is actually embarrassing to see someone say this. #TeenMomOG #LGBT

A short time later, Evans released a statement in regard to her husband’s rant.
“David didn’t understand how offensive people would get or how Twitter even works,” Evans explained to TMZ. “Now that he realizes his voice is very strong within media/tabloids he has deactivated his account. He agrees he will keep his comments to himself from now on.”
“David doesn’t hate people from the LGBT community,” she continued. “My old manager was gay and used to be one of me and Davids close friends. We attended Farrah’s birthday in Miami with a lot of LGBT people there and he didn’t act in any type of way. We went had a good time and left.”
“We are sorry for the comments that were made,” Evans added.
Unfortunately for the couple, the apology came too late for MTV. Both Evans and Eason’s Twitter accounts are currently offline.
This firing comes days after fans of Teen Mom 2 started a petition to get both Eason and Evans fired from the series.
