Another day, another Kim Zolciak podcast interview!
This time around, the Don’t Be Tardy star appeared on the Juicy Scoop With Heather McDonald podcast on Tuesday, during which she opened up about how her husband Kroy Biermann’s parents tried to stop their wedding, and revealed which one of her daughters’ fathers was a one night stand. Kim also claimed that she was once asked to be The Bachelorette!
First, Kim, 40, discussed the estranged relationship between Kroy and his parents, sharing a story of how they actually tried to prevent her wedding to Kroy back in 2011.
“We didn’t know this until after our wedding. They were at the wedding, but we found out two weeks later that they were in our driveway with a preacher praying against our wedding the day of. There was a circle of them in their family praying with their preacher and a pastor to block us from getting married that day,” Kim revealed.
She added that despite the rift, Kroy’s parents still “send presents every birthday and every Christmas” to her kids. But still, Kim didn’t seem to have much hope for a reconciliation with Kroy’s parents and her own parents, who she’s also estranged from.
“At this point, it’s like you know what? You have to protect you and your [immediate] family. I just want my kids happy,” she stated.
Kim went on to open up about being a young mom – revealing that she got pregnant with 21-yr-old daughter Brielle Biermann when she was a teenager.
“I was 18 when I got pregnant. I had graduated high school, and was going into college,” she said. “I became a mom at 19 and was still in nursing school.”
She then dropped a bombshell, when she told the podcast host, Heather McDonald, that Brielle’s dad was actually a one night stand.
“Brielle’s dad was a one night stand,” revealed Kim, adding that she decided to have Brielle because she didn’t believe in abortions. “I don’t believe in anything else,” she stated.
Years after Brielle’s birth, she got married to her second daughter Ariana’s dad, who happened to be her high school sweetheart. The marriage however didn’t last long as her ex-husband got into “major drugs” just months into their marriage.
“Graduated nursing school. Moved to Georgia, and got married,” revealed Kim. “Got pregnant with Ariana. And then he got into drugs like within 90 days, which is crazy because he was like 30-yrs-old when that happened. I had never even smoked pot in my life. He got into drugs, and I filed for divorce quickly after, within months of being married. We were together on and off for 10 years. I was seven and a half months pregnant.”
Kim was then asked if she would be open to Brielle, who broke up with her ex-boyfriend Michael Kopech earlier this year, doing a show like the Bachelorette, and that is when she revealed she was once asked to do the show by ABC.
“I was asked to do The Bachelorette,” claimed Kim. “You know, like probably many years ago. I was in talks with them probably 14 years ago. It was a long time ago. Long long time ago because Ariana was probably like a year or two old. I don’t even know how that started, I guess a couple of people that I knew tried to align that.”
Kim’s Bachelorette claims are more remarkable considering she says she was asked to do the show before she ever joined the Real Housewives of Atlanta, meaning when she was just a regular and unknown citizen.
She did add that Brielle is now in talks to potentially do her own dating show.
“Well, Brielle has a huge offer going on in a similar situation possibly,” she explained. “I just want Brielle to do what makes her happy. I feel like you’re only 21 once.”
Finally, when asked if she would be open to joining another Housewives franchise, you know, following her disastrous return to RHOA last season, Kim answered yes! She added that she feels she would fit right in with the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“Oh, I love like Kyle Richards and I dream of [joining the RHOBH],” said Kim. “I feel like Atlanta’s real aggressive. It’s very violent behavior, it’s something I’m not used to and it scares the sh-t out of me. I think Kyle’s so great. [The RHOBH] is more normal.”
