Stassi Schroeder‘s birthday party meltdown was followed by a meltdown by her mom on Monday night’s episode of Vanderpump Rules.
After fans watched as Stassi met her match in mom Dayna Schroeder, who burst into tears during a girl’s night out, Dayna took to her Instagram page, where she attempted to explain her behavior to her fans and followers.
“ALCOHOL + IMMUNE DISEASE MEDICATION + NO FOOD = DISASTER. (Just say no),” she wrote in the caption of a photo of herself and the moms of Katie Maloney and Kristen Doute.
Dayna also added several hashtags, including #DontDrinkandSpeak, #WeDrankaLot, #MaybeTooMuch, and #DontThinkBeforeISpeak.
On Monday night’s episode of the show, Stassi’s mom was seen telling her she shouldn’t be herself because that may push her boyfriend, Beau Clark, away. She also suggested she was in a hurry for grandchildren before revealing that her daughter hasn’t yet frozen her eggs like her co-star, Scheana Marie.
“Every night I go to sleep and pray that she doesn’t take her baggage from her old relationships and carry it into this,” Dayna said.
Meanwhile, on Instagram, Dayna faced backlash for her critical comments about Stassi.
“You wouldn’t believe the things people are saying,” Dayna revealed to one of her followers. “The important thing is that Stassi knows how much I love and esteem her, my friends know I’m always trying to be the obnoxious life of the party and if they understand, that’s all I ask for.”
“[It] is amazing how in the span of four hours total of filming they can select horrifying moments and put them all back to back to make you look like a train wreck. But I suppose if they showed everything in chronological order it wouldn’t be as much drama,” she said. “Now I understand what the girls go through. They have to make it dramatic yet they also don’t want the ‘hate’ in return. I just have to tell myself that viewers don’t know me so they believe what they see. They don’t know my obnoxious and foot in mouth personalty. I love to tease, joke and mess with the people I know and love. And viewers have no idea how close I am with my daughter and before I learned this reality TV show process, I would have judged me too!”
In addition to defending herself against her critics, Dayna received some support from Katie’s mom, Terri Maloney, who told her Instagram followers that Dayna is a “fabulous mom and friend.”
“She’s extremely caring, loving and nurturing. She puts all her children on a pedestal and would never speak negatively towards any of them,” Terri wrote. “She does love to tease and joke around with them. If everyone knew the real side of Dayna they would absolutely love her! I’m so grateful to have her as one of my closest friends!”
