After missing a week of filming on the 14th season of the Real Housewives of Orange County due to “negotiations,” Vicki Gunvalson took to Instagram yesterday to confirm her return. But is she returning as a ‘friend’ or a full-time housewife?
If you recall, news of Vicki’s reported demotion to a part-time cast member of the RHOC was first revealed by Jeff Lewis, on his Sirius XM show, Jeff Lewis Live. And then Kelly Dodd seemingly confirmed the news when she revealed she had also heard the same thing. Even more, filming started on the new season of the RHOC, and Vicki was missing in action.
And then just days ago, a report came out with a source close to production confirming Vicki’s demotion while adding that there isn’t much to negotiate, and that Vicki would either need to accept the ‘friend’ offer or face being fired.
Fast forward to this weekend, as Vicki took to her Instagram page last night to let her fans know that she is back and has already started filming for the upcoming season.
“First night of filming for me and @stevelodge_oc in the books. Season 14 @evolutionusa #bravo #rhoc,” wrote Vicki.
What is missing from Vicki’s post however is whether she is back as a ‘friend’ or a ‘housewife.’ Fortunately for fans, Vicki’s co-star Kelly is setting the record straight as she responded to her followers just hours ago about Vicki’s status. And according to Kelly, Vicki is returning as a friend!
After a fan of the show took to Kelly’s Instagram page to brag about Vicki’s return, Kelly made it clear that Vicki’s role will be reduced next season.
“Let’s see if she’s holding an orange..,” wrote Kelly on February 16.
Later, she made it more clear, writing: “Friend [role].”
Along with all of the cast members from last season, there is also a new cast member joining the series as Braunwyn Windham-Burke was photographed filming with Kelly and Shannon Beador at a bar last week. It is not known if Braunwyn, a mother of seven, will be a full-time or part-time member of the cast.
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 14 is expected to return later this year.
