RHONJ's Danielle Staub and Fiance Oliver Maier Have Broken Up Following Wedding Cancellation

They said it wouldn’t last, and it appears they were correct.

Just days after announcing her wedding has been postponed, a new report is revealing that the Real Housewives of New Jersey star Danielle Staub and her fiance of one week, Oliver Maier, have broken up.

Multiple sources tell Us Weekly that Danielle and Oliver have called it quits following six weeks of dating. And despite the fact that the couple went shopping for engagement rings this weekend, it appears he ultimately did not purchase any ring for Danielle… even though she showed off a ring online.

Last week, Danielle shocked RHONJ fans when she announced she was dating Oliver. The announcement came just days following the finalization of her divorce from her ex-husband Marty Caffrey. And then last Thursday, her rep confirmed her engagement and announced their plans to get married today, March 4.

“I am really looking forward to making a new life for myself with Oliver and putting my life on a positive and productive path,” Danielle said last week. “This is a new beginning for me and I am excited to see all that it brings.”

Meanwhile, another report is revealing that Oliver might not even be a Duke after all. After his proposal last week, Danielle’s rep had claimed he was a ‘Duke of Provence’ and that Danielle would become a Duchess following their wedding.

However, according to Page Six, the ‘Duke of Provence’ title is simply not real as Provence was inherited by King Louis XI of France in 1481, becoming a part of the French royal domain. Translation – the ‘Duke of Provence’ title is completely meaningless.

“He’s a descendant of the duke from around 700 years ago,” stated an insider. “The lineage doesn’t exist anymore. The title is pointless.”

And earlier today, Radar Online published a video which showed Oliver almost drowning while he was reportedly “blackout drunk” during a vacation with Danielle in St. Barth last week.

When Danielle called off her wedding this weekend, she cited the fact that her two daughters, Jillian, and Christine Staub, were “pushing back” against it. It appears they had a good reason as another report by Us Weekly stated they had yet to meet Oliver.

Oliver was Danielle’s 21st fiance.
