Is RHONY Star Bethenny Frankel's 'Media Obsession' and Tipping off Paparazzi to Blame for Daughter Not Getting Into Elite School?

Bethenny Frankel attempted to get her daughter, Bryn, into the Manhattan Friends Seminary Day School in New York City but unfortunately, she was unsuccessful.

However, while the Real Housewives of New York City cast member blamed her ex-husband, Jason Hoppy, for the 2015 snub, a new report suggests Bethenny is the responsible party.

In an email to Jason that was recently shared at court, Bethenny said the school passed on Bryn because “of your cousin being incarcerated as a pedophile, your uncle’s overdose or your cousin’s identity theft.” But according to Page Six, it was Bethenny’s attention-hungry behavior that got in the way of her daughter’s acceptance into the prestigious school.

As the outlet explained, Bethenny reportedly caused a disruption at her daughter’s former school by supposedly tipping off photographers about when she’d be picking up her child and ultimately, a number of other parents called the school to ask about their “policy on paparazzi.”

According to the report, the reality star supposedly tipped off the paps in an effort to portray herself as a doting mom to the public.

“Parents don’t want their kids to have to fight their way through [crowds of] paparazzi at pickup,” an insider explained. “There are plenty of much more famous people in New York — like Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones — who collect their kids without an army of paps. But, Bethenny just can’t do the school run without being photographed.”

On one occasion, the outlet claimed, a parent at Bryn’s school spoke to a waiting paparazzi who told her they had been tipped off that Bethenny would be picking up her daughter in costume for Halloween before she did so.

In response to the claims, Bethenny’s rep denied any such thing.

“Bethenny never tipped the paparazzi to come to her daughter’s school. The paparazzi were usually camped out in that neighborhood as it is a … scene for celebs,” the rep explained. “Bethenny regularly does pickup and drop-off. As for the Halloween costume, she was rushing from work to pick up her daughter.”

The Real Housewives of New York City season 11 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo TV.
