The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Gorga attended the opening of Marble restaurant last week in New York City and during the bash, he opened up about the challenges of reality television.
With brother-in-law, Joe Giudice facing a battle with depression as his deportation looms, Gorga, the husband of Melissa Gorga and brother of Teresa Giudice, spoke to socialite Cherie Corso about being part of the Real Housewives franchise.
“Be glad you’re not on the show. It is a lot — I feel like I’ve been pregnant for the past eight years,” he explained, according to a report from Page Six.
As fans of the series well know, the Gorga and Giudice families have faced tons of legal hardships since they first began appearing on the show and recently, after completing a 41-month prison stint for charges of bank and wire fraud, Giudice was taken into custody by ICE.
While Giudice’s prison term is complete, he is expected to remain in an immigration detention center until a judge makes a final ruling on his request to remain in the country with his family. All the while, Giudice continues to miss out on key moments of his children’s lives, including his 18-year-old daughter Gia Giudice‘s upcoming graduation from high school.
“He is really sad and depressed that he is missing important moments with his children and he would love nothing more to get out of the situation he is in with all the deportation issues he is currently embattled with and instead go back to his normal life,” a source told Hollywood Life on May 26. “He has learned so much from this ordeal and has definitely made sure that he is honoring family in a more respectable manner.”
“Everything that has been happening has really changed his life,” the source explained. “He wants his family to see the best of him and he is not there yet and he knows that will change once he is away from all this mess but everything just happens to be coming all at once and he feels miserable that he is unable to get out of this current funk. Teresa is feeling that same pressure. They both can’t wait for brighter days.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 10 will air on Bravo TV sometime later this year.
