RHONY Star Bethenny Frankel Clarifies the Timeline of Her Relationships With Caterer Ex-Boyfriend, Paul Bernon and Dennis Shields

There are three men Bethenny Frankel talks about in this season of The Real Housewives of New York City, leaving fans to question when one relationship began and the other ended.

While the season begins with Bethenny mourning the loss of her on-again, off-again fiancé Dennis Shields, it quickly becomes clear that he’s not the only man in the RHONY star’s life. Fans were introduced to the “hot catering guy” Russ while also hearing small tidbits about her current boyfriend Paul Bernon. So, when did she have time to meet all of these guys?

“I dated intermittently,” Bethenny explained to Andy Cohen. “We would break up for a month, or two months and I’d be like ‘okay’ and I’d say to Dennis ‘I want to meet someone,’ and I met catering guy in the Hamptons and we dated for … six weeks, two months.”

Things may not have worked out with the hot, young caterer, but Bethenny, 48, reveals that seeing photos of her with Russ was “a tough pill to swallow” for her ex Dennis. That relationship may have just been a fling, but shortly after Dennis’ death, Bethenny began getting serious with her current guy Paul

The RHONY star gets candid about how she dated Paul briefly around Christmas of 2017, just months before Dennis proposed. She even recalls saying that Paul might be “the one” but the timing wasn’t right.

“We went out a couple of times, and I just wasn’t really ready,” she explained of Paul. “I was too needy if that makes any sense. I wanted someone to give me a guarantee, this is the guy because I didn’t want to get hurt.”

After Dennis passed, Paul came back into Bethenny’s life, offering her support. “He just came back and really courted me and it was great ’cause I had a history with him and I trusted him.”

While the timeline may be a bit hectic, the two are still going strong today!

The Real Housewives of New York City airs Thursday nights on Bravo at 9/8c.
