Real Housewives of Orange County star Emily Simpson is explaining why she thinks her husband Shane Simpson didn’t pass his bar exam for the second time this year.
As was previously reported, Shane failed to pass the bar exam that he took back in July. While his wife, Emily, has been a practicing attorney for years, she’s choosing to have compassion for her husband for attempting to take the difficult exam so many times.
“The California Bar and the New York Bar are the two hardest bars in the country,” Emily explained this week on the RHOC After Show. “I feel badly, I don’t think he’s a good test-taker. I am, I can nail a test, like nobody’s business.”
While he didn’t pass the bar exam he took in California back in July of 2019 (nor did he pass the one he took back in February), Shane does have an active law license in the state of Utah. Nonetheless, Emily wishes followers of the show would be a little easier on her husband.
“I feel like instead of bashing him, people should commend him for having perseverance — I mean, he’s taken it multiple times and instead of just giving up, he just keeps doing it,” said the supportive mother-of-three. “Lots of people in California have taken it multiple times.”
“The pass rate was only 31% when he took it, so that means 69% of people out there didn’t pass the bar when he took it,” Emily added.
Neither Shane nor Emily have revealed if he’ll attempt to take the California Bar exam yet another time.
