Marc Daly‘s restaurant in Brooklyn, New York, SoCo, recently received a reported 28 health code violations.
According to a report last week, inspectors from New York City’s Health Department paid a visit to the Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member’s venue in February and issued them more citations than they’d ever received before. However, on the Instagram account belonging to SoCo, Kenya Moore‘s husband’s restaurant suggested the reveal was “fake news.”
Bossip revealed that after a routine visit to SoCo on February 13, the New York City’s Health Department dealt the establishment with numerous violations, including improper food storage, preparation, transportation, display, or service, and incorrect storage temperatures for cold food items.
There were also said to be live roaches in the kitchen and dining room and evidence of mice.
Although SoCo received nearly 30 violations, the New York Health Department ultimately awarded the restaurant with an “A” grade.
Following the report, SoCo confirmed their “A” grade on Instagram and slammed the idea that the establishment was not up to par.
“For the haters spreading false news PSA we have maintained our A for many years our staff is amazing Soco standards have always been upheld please stop spreading fake rumors about a successful black owned business!!!” the venue wrote.
SoCo also shared an additional statement on Instagram on Monday morning, thanking their many guests for their loyalty and support.
“Than you all so much for joining us this weekend. We’ve had a wild ride over the past week. It’s been a pleasure to serve you all. Your loyalty and support has helped us have an amazing weekend and confirmed the true mission of the restaurant and brand. To elevate the dining experience for our guest, not just in Brooklyn, but beyond,” the message wrote. “We especially appreciate your encouraging words to our staff, who bring tremendous effort every day to ensure you enjoy your experience. Know that we will never stop working hard to provide and improve the quality of service, food, beverage and ambience at all of the SoCo establishments.”
