As the coronavirus continues to spread rapidly throughout the United States and around the globe, the Vanderpump Rules star took to his Instagram Stories, where he suggested that God was using illness and death to teach people a lesson about how they’ve been treating one another and the planet.
“I know a lot of good people are out of work and are having a rough time and that sucks and I am so sorry, but I feel like this is a punishment from the man upstairs,” Taylor began on Sunday, March 29.
According to Taylor, he believes God feels that people are ungrateful and in need of a “time out.”
“I really think he’s tired of the way we treat people, he’s tired of how we treat the planet, probably thinks some of us are ungrateful, I mean I could go on and on… but this is like a serious ‘time out’ for the world,” he continued.
Taylor went on to say he hopes COVID-19 will serve as a “wake-up call” and prompt change.
“When we come out of this we need to change for the better,” he wrote. “All of us need a wake-up call, we need to change our ways because obviously it wasn’t working and we needed a punishment and this is it… the true test will be how we come out of this, and when we do, remember what it was like when our freedom was taken from us. Let’s show the man upstairs that we can do better for ourselves and humanity. He’s done so much for us, it’s time to pay him back.”
Jax and his wife, Brittany Cartwright, have been self-quarantined at their home in Los Angeles for the past couple of weeks. During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Brittany revealed a positive outlook on the state of the nation.
“I just feel like we’re gonna be OK, everybody’s gonna get through this together, hopefully we can contain everything quickly, hope people stay home and wash their hands,” she said.
