Nene Leakes‘ Swagg Boutique is closing its doors.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star’s clothing store is reportedly going out of business, with its location at Sugarloaf Mills in Lawrenceville, a suburb in Atlanta, showcasing signs announcing “50-75% off” and “All Sales Final” in the windows.
The news, reported by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on August 6, reveals the store’s closing, with photos of the sales and “store closing” signs. The publication also reportedly reached out to Nene’s publicity firm, JonesWorks, who did not respond for comment.
Nene opened a Swagg outpost at the Sugarloaf Mills location in 2017 after she closed her previous store in Buckhead. The reality star also owns Swagg Boutiques in MGM National Harbor in Maryland and Miami Beach. Thus far, those locations are still operating and the Swagg website remains active.
The 52-year-old closed the boutique back in March due to the pandemic. Although she re-opened eventually, like many retail operations in the area (and across the U.S.), business took a massive hit.
Nene’s RHOA co-star, Kandi Burruss, also owns a clothing boutique, TAGS, which she opened in 2009 in Smyrna. Kandi moved TAGS to Buckhead in 2012 and then next to her Old Lady Gang restaurant in the Castleberry Hill neighborhood of Atlanta.
Nene’s business ventures outside of RHOA aren’t the only thing coming into question. The series OG is currently pursuing other projects, causing speculation if she’ll be returning to the show full-time. Rumors of her firing are also circulating, although nothing has been officially confirmed.
