Sonja Morgan denies being “lit” on Real Housewives of New York City as she reacts to Luann de Lesseps‘ comments about her drinking and reveals which of her co-stars are genuine friends.
As the ladies gathered together at Eboni K. Williams‘ home on election night, Sonja appeared a bit frazzled, especially when they discussed Ramona Singer‘s Instagram motives. As a result, Luann — who is currently sober — began to feel a bit uncomfortable with Sonja’s behavior and left the party after asking her co-stars to keep an eye on her longtime pal.
“There seems to be a shift going on,” Luann said of the situation on the June 15 episode. “And now it’s kind of taken a turn for the worst, and it’s hard to watch.”
When Sonja stopped by Watch What Happens Live on Tuesday night, she shared her thoughts on Luann’s remarks.
“Listen, when Luann isn’t drinking, nobody else can drink,” she claimed. “When she’s drinking, she tells me to drink.”
As for whether she believes she had a little bit too much to drink the night of the election party, she shared that she doesn’t think so at all.
“No, I wasn’t too lit,” she declared. “And Eboni and Leah [McSweeney] know I wasn’t too lit.”
Leah, who appeared alongside Sonja on the WWHL episode, chimed in and seemingly agreed with the star, stating, “She’s never too lit.”
A surprised Andy Cohen weighed in, saying, “You were pretty lit. Did you see it, the episode?”
“I’m always lit when I’m with my girlfriends,” the 57-year-old responded. “I always have a good time.”
Meanwhile, one fan called in and wanted to know who Sonja believes is her “most genuine friend” currently. And though she’s had issues with both this season, she named Ramona and Luann.
“[I] couldn’t ever be any closer than I am right now to Luann or Ramona,” she revealed, adding, “They’re like family.”
She also went on to gush over her friendship with Eboni as the clothing designer believes she and the newcomer have a great deal in common.
“I became very close to Eboni because we were both raised by our grandmothers. We both lived with our grandmothers,” she explained. “We bonded over that and just being alone in the city.”
Leah was seemingly offended by Sonja naming every single cast member but her, and she was forced to remind her co-star that she was “sitting right [there].”
“You’re very genuine,” Sonja responded before Leah reminded her that she’s been speaking to her more lately than Luann and Ramona have been. Leah then added that she’s actually Sonja’s “most genuine friend.”
The Real Housewives of New York City season 13 airs Tuesday nights on Bravo at 9/8c.
