Andy Cohen has no current plans to fire Erika Jayne from The Real Housewives of New York City, and during Monday’s episode of his Radio Andy show, he explained why.
On the heels of a report claiming Erika is one of Bravo’s “most problematic” stars, Andy addressed calls for her firing before teasing the remaining episodes of season 11 and confirming when the reunion special will be filmed.
“I’m getting a lot of tweets from people saying, ‘You have to fire Erika from the show.’ I’m like, ‘You realize that the show is wrapped, we have shot it. You cannot remove her from the show,'” Andy told guest Michael Rapaport on the July 12 episode of Andy Cohen Live.
Because she and her estranged husband, Thomas Girardi, have been accused of embezzling millions of dollars from his former clients, including orphans and widows of plane crash victims, many viewers have requested she be fired from RHOBH. However, until she’s actually convicted of a crime, it is unlikely that will happen.
For now, Andy is allowing for the story to play out on the show.
“What I think is interesting is that the women found out… this season, it’s like a mystery unraveling and every episode, you start to get a little more. And I think, I think this week is the episode where the first article about Tom Girardi ripping off his clients comes out and the women start to realize, they start to be like, ‘Well wait. What’s this?’” he revealed.
“You’ll see the reaction to this play out as the weeks go on and it is fascinating,” he teased.
Andy went on to say that the 11th season of RHOBH will continue airing through September with “at least” 10 more episodes, and he noted that filming on the reunion will not take place until sometime after Labor Day.
“[We] have not shot the reunion. The reunion is not until after Labor Day,” he confirmed.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 11 airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
