The Peacock spinoff brought Housewives from several franchises together for a getaway to Turks and Caicos. As the cameras started rolling, however, Teresa was hit with her first blow.
Melissa Gorga, her sister-in-law, soon informed her that Ramona Singer was making shady comments about Teresa before the trip. Ramona apparently said Teresa was like the scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz (meaning she didn’t have a brain).
Teresa addressed the drama in an interview with ET. “Ramona gets into it with a lot of people,” she said. She was “shocked” to hear Ramona’s thoughts because they didn’t even know each other. Teresa warned, “Never judge a book by its cover.”
The Bravo star said “judging” is one of the worst things someone can do. According to Teresa, “People like to say whatever they want to say, but you should really get to know a person first before you make any judgment.”
She mentioned that Ramona “eats her words” on the show. But by the end of the vacation, though, Teresa somehow managed to feel a bond with Ramona along with everyone on the trip.
Unfortunately, RHUGT is not the only drama in Teresa’s life. The 49-year-old just got engaged to Luis Ruelas, whom she met at the Jersey Shore in the summer of last year. Since the proposal, she’s had to fend off haters who claim Luis has hidden motives.
In her interview, Teresa addressed these haters directly. Even though people say “he wants to be on TV,” the mother-of-four was adamant that he feels the exact opposite. She said being on television is “not his thing.”
She also told the naysayers to “mind your business.” She expressed that “you should want someone to be happy,” and she asked them to “leave [her and Louie] alone.” But in Teresa’s opinion, no one can “destroy our happiness… It’s never going to happen. And I’m a very strong, strong individual. And if they knock me down, I’ll get right back up.”
Teresa also responded to the “craziest” rumor that Luis planned to meet her at the Jersey Shore last year. The Bravo star explained “he didn’t even know who I was,” and he had never been to the Jersey Shore until that day.
According to Teresa, they met on the very street where she once prayed to her deceased parents, asking for a good man.
