Glenn Shephard went Instagram official with girlfriend Danelis “Dani” Jimenez last month, and shortly after doing so, he was met with rumors of a potential engagement.
After sharing a series of photos, and slideshows of pics, on his social media page throughout the month of November, the Below Deck Sailing Yacht cast member was forced to set the record straight in regard to a mysterious ring Dani was wearing in one of the images.
The speculation began on Instagram on November 20, when Captain Glenn shared photos and videos from a trip he and Dani, who hails from the Dominican Republic, took to Mexico City’s Teotihuacan pyramids and the Xochimilco boats.
“You’ll never guess who I bumped into at the Pirámides de Teotihuacan,” he wrote in his caption. “No matter what I do I can’t seem to shake this chick…. I tried to give her the slip but she even followed me to Xochimilco.”
Then, in a “status update,” Glenn addressed the potential engagement ring on Dani’s finger.
“It was just a ring … Neither of us are married nor engaged, but I can report we are very much in love, and for us, that’s what counts,” he noted. “PS for those that sent us congratulations, I can assure you they were not wasted, our relationship is worth celebrating.”
Amid his fans’ congratulatory messages, Glenn was met with kind comments from the Real Housewives of Miami star Alexia Nepola and Below Deck alum Kate Chastain, who said he and Dani made a “gorgeous couple” and “beautiful couple,” respectively.
In another post shared days prior, Glenn joked about an airplane encounter with Dani.
“Sat next to this lovely lady on the Emirates flight here to Mexico City yesterday. I was like: If you don’t talk to her you’re an idiot,” he said on November 16. “She was very nice but I did have to squabble with her a bit over the window seat.”
Following the flight, which saw Glenn and Dani flying from Barcelona to Mexico City, per The Daily Dish, where they attended the NBCUniversal Experience at Jardin Santa Fe, Glenn posted a photo of the two of them dressed up on the red carpet.
“Looking sharp capt,” Below Deck’s Eddie Lucas wrote in response to the black tie pic as Marcos Spaziani said Glenn was a “Legend.”
As for the couple’s more recent adventures, Glenn shared a Christmas pic of himself and Dani last week, which saw the couple posing at a marina in Spain.
“From myself, Danielis, and the whole gang here on Parsifal III, I’d like to wish you all, Happy Holidays, a very Merry Christmas, and of course, a Happy New Year, I’ve got big hopes for 2023,” he captioned the photo.
Back in May, Glenn first teased his new relationship to The Daily Dish.
“There’s someone in my life, but we don’t really want that out in the public eye, at this stage anyway. Maybe in the future,” he said at the time.
