Summer House: Kyle Cooke Shares Update on Friendship with Carl Radke, Discusses Wife Amanda’s "Complicated” Fertility Journey and Shades Lindsay

Kyle Cooke gave an update on his friendship with Carl Radke, and he revealed that his wife Amanda Batula’s fertility journey is “more complicated” than fans know.

Although Carl worked for Kyle at “Loverboy” for several years, Carl recently quit. The tension between the men, who were once good friends, has been highlighted in the current season of Summer House, which was filmed before Carl’s exit from the company.

In a recent Instagram post, via Showbiz Cheat Sheet, Kyle hinted that he and Carl are getting to a better place.

“2 friends,” wrote Kyle over a photo of himself with Carl. “1 pic in front of a hotel lobby floral arrangement. Just a long overdue hang sesh. Filming can be A LOT. But the actual airing of the footage is what really challenges friendships and relationships.”

“The cast gets to see what they missed while others were filming,” the star went on. “Confessionals create an environment where you can speak your mind way more freely than in the moment to someone’s face. And then social media platforms allow everyone else to weigh in on what they saw in the condensed edit.”

“So in a weird way, I just wanted you all to know that Carl Radke and I are watching this season together as friends and learning a lot about ourselves and one another in the process. We’ll be good. I love this guy.”

Kyle also addressed another issue that was highlighted on the show. In an interview for Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast, Kyle shared that his wife’s fertility journey is “more complicated” than what viewers think.

“There’s obviously a lot more to it than what made it into the [show],” said the 40-year-old. “It breaks my heart.”

Kyle added, “She’s catching so much s—t from trolls about her weight and people are like, ‘Well, you’re missing your period because you lost so much weight.’”

Amanda has stated that she and Kyle “want to have kids,” but “it’s just not in the cards right now.” She explained that her “last period” occurred in November 2021, following her decision to stop taking birth control.

Kyle suggested that Amanda’s weight loss is related to her new medication, which alleviates acne.

“I’ll set the record straight. Yes, going off birth control causes you to lose weight. It also causes your hormones to go out of control like you’re a teenager. She has always had great skin,” he said.

“She was breaking out like she was in high school right up until when we went to film ‘Winter House’ [Season 2].”

Kyle added, “She went on … a medication where the byproduct happens to be clearer skin. One of the side effects was also it caused her to lose some weight. I don’t think it’s a common side effect, but it was like a two-fold kind of weight loss that she had zero control over.”

He praised co-star and nurse Ciara Miller for recommending Amanda get medical attention amid filming.

“I was so thankful for friends like Ciara, who really kind of took her under their wing to start to understand what was going on,” said Kyle.

“It was tough because she’s going through the weight loss, she’s going through the acne and oh, by the way, what’s going on with her menstrual cycle and her fertility,” he added. “So, I don’t want to spoil anything but I’m so glad the girls — it kind of started [the conversation] at that tea brunch.”

Kyle, who recently appeared in Peacock’s The Traitors, shared his thoughts about Lindsay Hubbard (Kyle’s castmate and Carl’s fiancé) and her desire to get on the show.

“Look, I think that she probably would be pretty incredible. I mean, she’s very good at spinning things. She’s very good at looking after herself,” he said. “She’s a dynamic individual. She can turn it on. And when you’re over … then she can kind of dispose of you when she doesn’t [need you]. So, I think that those are some traitor qualities.”

Kyle said he and Lindsay have a “fairly complicated relationship,” though he’d “absolutely” recommend her for Traitors.

“I think she’d be really good at it,” Kyle expressed.

Summer House airs Monday nights at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo.
