Monica Garcia’s mom said Monica “begged” her to film Real Housewives of Salt Lake City – and she initially refused. Linda also shared why she was “wanted” on screen, and she claimed Monica “could have visited” her Bermuda family “off camera.”
In a recent episode, after her Bermuda family bailed on filming, Monica treated it as a betrayal. She insinuated that her mom Linda had something to do with it – but later confessed she was wrong. Though the mother and daughter fought endlessly on camera, they soon found a healthier place to air their dirty laundry: Twitter.
In a December 19 tweet, Monica’s mom responded to a fan asking if she auditioned to be a Housewife.
“No. Never. Reality TV is not my cup of tea,” said Linda. “When Monica asked me I told her no way. She begged me to do it and said I was wanted for speaking Portuguese and cooking.”

In a separate tweet, Linda suggested that her family never refused to see Monica – they just didn’t want to film.
“Don’t start blaming me for Bermuda,” said Linda, reacting to Monica’s suggestion that Linda had something to do with the cancellation. “[Monica] could have visited them off camera.”
“She could have told them where she was staying and they could have gone to visit her,” she went on, via @bravosnarkside on Instagram. “Do not blame me!! Enough with this s**t.”
But when a fan expressed that the family should have told Monica why they couldn’t meet, Linda wrote, “I agree.” Linda admitted, however, that she doesn’t “blame them for not wanting to be on the show.”
