Kyle Richards reacted to Rihanna‘s comment about her alleged romance with Morgan Wade during an appearance earlier this week.
After the 36-year-old singer told Interview magazine that she believed “something” was going on between her and Morgan, 29, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 55, admitted she’s somewhat “desensitized” to the rumors as she also addressed the second season of Buying Beverly Hills and offered an update on where she stands with estranged husband Mauricio Umansky, 53.
“It’s pretty funny,” Kyle told HELLO! of Rihanna’s statement at Wednesday’s An Unforgettable Evening fundraiser, which benefitted the Women’s Cancer Research Fund. “I don’t know why though, but in these last couple of years I feel like everything I do is talked about and now I’m sort of desensitized to the headlines.”
“I’ve seen so many lies, I’ve seen so many truths, I’ve seen things that are just shocking to see in writing, so now I’m just sort of desensitized. I think there’s probably nothing that I can read about myself that would shock me at this point,” she continued.
As RHOBH fans well know, Kyle has starred in all 13 seasons of the Bravo reality series and is the only remaining original Housewife on the show. So, it is understandable that she’s faced a lot of rumors and mistruths along the way.
“[I] would never have imagined that I would be in the situation that I am in today. But life falls and it’s all about how we handle those situations, so I’m just trying to be strong and take care of myself and do the best I can for myself and for my daughters,” she explained.
During another interview at the same event, Kyle spoke of having to share details about her and Mauricio’s split amid production on Buying Beverly Hills season two.
“In an odd sort of way it was a little bit cathartic,” Kyle shared with Extra, adding, “Actually, more than a little, actually having to talk about it on the show because nobody wanted to. We certainly didn’t want to address it and kind of being forced to do so did open the things that did need to be addressed.”
After wrapping both RHOBH season 13 and Buying Beverly Hills season two, Kyle said she’s “taking time to process” ahead of season 14.
“I don’t know,” she said of a potential return. “I’m taking the time to process where I’m at in my life and what I want to do next, so we’ll see. Right now I’m just kind of taking this break and decompressing.”
As for where she stands with Mauricio, Kyle confirmed they “are good friends.”
“We get along and no matter what, we are always going to be family and friends so we’ll see. We’ll see what life has in store for us next,” she stated.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 is expected to begin filming later this month.
