Multiple media outlets are confirming there won’t be a reunion for The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 14.
BravoandCocktails was the first to break the news earlier as the Instagram blog wrote: “The ladies of this franchise spent the entire season trying to avoid each other. Luckily for them, they won’t have to try any longer. The reunion is canceled. And the show as we know it is too.”
And then just moments ago, PEOPLE confirmed the report of the RHONJ season 14 reunion being cancelled. An insider tells the outlet that there won’t be the traditional reunion that most Real Housewives fans have come to expect.
“A reunion is meant to have resolution and it’s clear in the season finale that there is no path forward in that type of setting,” said the insider to the outlet. “So the network is figuring out a different concept to wrap up the season.”
AllAboutTRH is also confirming the news, reporting that the reunion was originally scheduled to film on June 27. The site reports that the ladies are in “complete shock” and are now “worried that they will be fired.”
The main divide within the cast comes as sisters-in-law Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga are no longer on speaking terms amid their ongoing feud. Things have also gotten ugly behind the scenes with Margaret Josephs accusing Teresa’s husband Luis Ruelas of placing threatening phone calls to her son at his workplace.
This development is rather shocking however and doesn’t make a lot of sense as this isn’t the first time a Real Housewives cast has been divided or certain cast members aren’t on speaking terms. Cancelling a reunion due to this isn’t the norm.
One has to wonder if there is more to this story than we are privy to. The last time a Real Housewives reunion was cancelled was for the Real Housewives of New York City season 13. It later came out that the real reason that the reunion was cancelled was due to an investigation of racism after Ramona Singer was accused of making racist comments and allegedly using the N-word.
Following that season of RHONY, the network announced a total shakeup and the show returned for season 14 with an all new cast. Could RHONJ be facing the same fate? Is there something bubbling up behind the scenes? Stay tuned.
Reality Blurb did report earlier this week that the ratings hit a new low with a number of fans blaming the ratings dip on the cast divide. Andy Cohen also came out earlier this year to share that he doesn’t believe the show is sustainable as long as the cast remained deeply divided.
In more RHONJ news, Teresa’s daughter Milania Giudice recently attended her high school prom. The 18-year-old, who was recently involved in a car crash, took to her Instagram page to share a video as her mom also shared some prom pictures which are posted below.
The RHONJ airs Sunday nights at 8/7c on Bravo.
