The Valley has been a pretty big hit for Bravo. Sure, it’s not as popular as Vanderpump Rules, but there has been quite a bit of buzz on social media. Unfortunately, much of the talk has been about the separation of Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright. Now, Jax is revealing why he decided to stay in the marital home and if he and Brittany will see other people while they’re separated.

Jax and Brittany got married in 2019, but they’ve had a pretty rocky relationship. The two went their separate ways in February of this year. However, it seems the door may not be closed to them getting back together, as she has previously said there is a chance as long as he can change his behavior.

Recently, on their When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany podcast, Jax opened up about continuing to live in their shared home despite not being together. They’re not the first reality TV couple to do this. However, he shares that Brittany did eventually decide to leave because things got so bad.

In terms of why he didn’t leave, Jax says, “I can’t afford that. I can’t afford a mortgage and an apartment. So, you know, Brittany does really well for herself. She got a place down the street, you know, both close to our kid’s school, and it’s going okay. And we’re doing what we got to do.”

He goes on to say that he wanted Brittany to stay and that the house is big enough for the both of them.

“I wanted her to stay. I know it wasn’t getting well, and I know we have a son to think about, but it never got to the point where we’re yelling in front of our son. And our house is big enough to where you can live on two sides of the house.”

He goes on to say that he had spoken to his estranged wife only an hour before recording the podcast and that they talk often.

Additionally, Jax says he could understand his need to move out if he had cheated.

It’s not like it’s, you know, it’s communication thing. So if it was a cheating thing or something like that, then I would understand, okay, sure, I gotta go. But this is something completely different, you know?”

Elsewhere in the podcast, Jax expresses that he is not dating anyone currently. However, he does reveal that he and Brittany are open to seeing other people.

According to Jax,Marriage is not easy. We’re trying to figure out a lot of different things right now. Therapy, I’m trying to work separation, maybe possibly dating other people, trying to do all these exhaust everything before we have to go down the divorce road if that so be the case.”

He continues,But as of right now, we are both on the same page with dating other people. That is okay. I know people are coming at me and calling me this and that, but we are both in agreement that this is okay. However, he says the most important thing is their son.

Fans can watch The Valley on Tuesday nights on Bravo.
