Season eight of Summer House was dramatic. Fans saw the breakup of an engagement between Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard, but they also saw the beginnings of a relationship between Ciara Miller and West Wilson. Sadly, that one ended, too. Now, Ciara is opening up about the breakup, dating again, and whether she’s open to being romantic with co-stars in the future.
The news recently came out that the full cast from season eight, minus Danielle Olivera, will be back for season nine. They will be joined by new faces as well. This should make for interesting dynamics, as the returning cast members aren’t all on the best of terms.
Ciara recently sat down with People and discussed her dating life. She starts by saying she’s unsure if she’s open to dating co-stars in the future. Notably, not only did she date West, but she also dated Austen Kroll in the past.
According to Ciara, “I keep getting my feelings hurt, so I don’t know. It does create this weird thing of wanting to be more of a recluse and kind of reel it back. But in the moment, it’s so fun, but then not all parts of it are fun.”
She then shares that she hardly watches herself on TV as a way to avoid reliving feelings such as the ones that resulted from her breakups. She says, “The lag time is around six to seven months. Mentally, I’ve really tried to move on, but it makes it hard when you’re watching it back, and the emotions do feel really fresh sometimes. So it’s a battle, but then you’re seeing clips of it on social media and everything.”
However, she does enjoy that she can revisit the fun moments if she decides to. Ciara then discusses some of the support she got from fans after the breakup. This is especially true of the messages she gets on social media from other women. She calls it a “community.”
“I am for the girls in my DMs that are just like, ‘I can relate‘ or ‘I’ve been there, and you’re not dumb. The girls honestly make it worth it through thick and thin and bad and good. The girls that message you and are rallying behind you — Christ, how are we not picking girls over guys all day long? It’s really such a community.”
She continues, “I love getting messages from women who are in their 50s and 40s telling me that I’m on the right path and reassuring that you’re in your 20s and you make mistakes and you’re figuring it out and this is such a small part of your life in comparison to the big picture.“
Filming for season nine of Summer House is set to begin early this month.
