Brittany Cartwright shared details about her recent mommy makeover on Friday’s episode of her podcast.
Days after confirming she’d gone under the knife, the 36-year-old Vanderpump Rules alum and star of The Valley, who is newly single after splitting from Brandon Hanson after just months of dating, revealed exactly which plastic surgery procedures she had done.
“First off, I had abdominal reconstruction,” Brittany began on the October 10 episode of When Reality Hits With Brittany Cartwright. “After I had Cruz, which, by the way, I was humongous when I was pregnant, and I thank my body so much for giving me my beautiful son. I would never take anything for granted. I really just did this as a confidence thing for me, cuz I’m starting to feel so much better after everything I’ve been through to where I’m at, and I wanted to feel as good on the outside as I’m starting to feel on the inside.”
Continuing to give a nod to her messy split from Jax Taylor, 46, who she claimed body-shamed her after Cruz’s birth, Brittany said her surgeries were “very important for [her] mental health.”
In addition to stretch marks and a shelf below her belly button “that would not go away,” Brittany suffered from diastasis recti, an abdominal separation, after giving birth.
“My abs were separated, so at the top of my stomach, it was almost sticking out more than the bottom of my stomach … and I hated that,” she admitted.
While the reconstructive surgery was hard on her body, Brittany said she “can already tell such a difference.”
“I can look down and my stomach doesn’t stick out like it used to,” she noted, adding that the procedure was “extremely painful and a tough recovery.”
Brittany also got liposuction around her back and sides and on her stomach to get her body back to what it looked like before she had Cruz.
“Lipo is not easy. My back is sore, as well as my front, so it’s been difficult to sleep,” she explained.
“And then I had a full tummy tuck,” she continued. “They took off a lot of the skin from underneath my belly button to right above my pubic bone and all the way across. So it’s crazy. All my stretch marks are gone, and my stomach is completely flat, and they moved my belly button up.”
As for her breasts, Brittany replaced her original implants with a smaller size.
“They took out some of my breast tissue to make it look smaller as well. And I got a lift. So my boobs are perky. They are beautiful … and I am so freaking excited,” she gushed.
During another moment of the podcast, Brittany offered an update on her relationship status.
“I’m single. We actually did not last. We were very good friends before we started dating. It was kind of like a whirlwind relationship. It went into the public way sooner than we ever would’ve wanted it to. We still care about each other. It ended amicably, but I just could not do the long distance,” she revealed. “He’s got a lot of obligations with his three kids and jobs, and we live three hours away, so it was just too tough to keep it going. We really cared about each other. Hopefully, we can remain friends, but it’s just something I didn’t see that was going to be able to continue in the future.”
Additionally, Brittany acknowledged that she still has a lot of “healing” and “learning” to do after her breakup with Jax.
“I still have a lot of healing to do, a lot of learning to do, so I think being single for a little longer is what’s best for me. It was a short relationship, short couple of months … but I feel good about the decision and I think this is what’s best for me … [I] wish him the best … it just wasn’t for me,” she added.
Brittany also offered an update on her recovery on her Instagram Story after fans noticed she appeared shaky in one of her recent social media videos.
“Let’s remember, I’m still recovering from a huge surgery, even though I’m feeling better every day,” she told listeners. “I had my tubes removed today, and it went so much better than I thought. It was like, hardly any pain. I barely felt anything at all. So I feel so free, and I feel so much better. It’s crazy how much better I instantly felt with having the tubes removed. So, still very swollen, but oh my gosh, I feel amazing.”
The Valley season three is currently in production and expected to begin airing on Bravo sometime early next year.
