Scheana Shay reacted to Brett Caprioni’s New Year’s Eve engagement to Carli Bybel on Friday’s episode of her podcast.

As she also shared where she stood with the cast of The Valley, explained why she walked away from the show, and teased her potential future on the series, Scheana, 40, commented on her former Vanderpump Rules castmate’s proposal, revealing that she encouraged him to rekindle his romance with the YouTuber.

“Brett, I just want to give a congratulations to,” Scheana began on the January 9 episode of Scheananigans. “Him and Carli Bybel are back together. They’re engaged. And I am so happy for them.”

According to Scheana, she was always a fan of Carli and her romance with Brett, despite their own flirtation.

“I talk about this in my book, actually, where he and I were having a conversation, season eight, outside, the worst editing you’ve ever seen. And it was two different conversations happening at once. One where he and I are talking about how we’re just friends and it’s not going to be anything more, and another part of the conversation where I was literally talking about Carli and was just saying how I wished it worked out with them,” she shared.

While Scheana has never met Carli, she said the two of them have followed each other on social media for “about a decade” and have exchanged texts and DMs.

“I feel like we’ve been friends forever, so when he was in L.A., I was just like, ‘Dude, what are you doing? You have this amazing woman back home. Like, go to her,’ and I’m so glad that he did,” she revealed. “I love following her and watching their love story. It’s just, it’s amazing.”

“I think things didn’t work out because this beautiful baby boy [Lorenzo, 4] that she has needed to come into the world, and now they’ve found their way back to each other,” she added.

During another segment of the show, someone questioned Scheana about her friendships with members of The Valley.

“Are you not as close with [Brittany Cartwright] and [Janet Caperna] anymore?” the listener asked, via Bravo’s The Daily Dish.

“I am still good friends with all of them,” Scheana replied. “I talked to Brittany the other day. I talked to Janet yesterday. I’m seeing [Michelle Saniei] on Thursday for dinner. [Jasmine Goode] and I hang out. [Zack Wickham], [Kristen Doute], I just talked to. So, they are still all of my friends.”

Scheana also recently attended a Los Angeles Chargers game with Nia, 35, and Danny Booko, 42.

“They’re all very much in my life, and TBD, what happens with the future of The Valley and myself. I just needed to step away for me, and I think time away from doing the show is really healing for me. But you never know what the future holds,” she added.

After choosing to focus on her family, including husband Brock Davies and their daughter, Summer Moon, 4, and her life outside of the show, Scheana said she embarked on a “healing era.”

“I needed to make a change in my life, and I did that,” she said. “I walked away from what I’ve known as an adult and my career with reality TV; that’s what I’ve done since I was 26 years old, and taking a step back from that last year gave me time to focus on myself, [and] my relationship.”

It also allowed her to set “boundaries” with people.

“[I’m] trying to focus less on managing” friendships “out of obligation,” she explained, adding that she instead prioritized “nurturing the ones that feel mutual, supportive and grounded.”

“I’ve also had to get more honest with myself about my capacity,” she said. “Just because I care about someone, it doesn’t mean that I can realistically show up for them in every season, and that’s OK. I’ve taken pressure off myself.”
