Katie Ginella Calls Out RHOC Cast for Visiting Japan, Claims Cast Has "Zero Respect" for Asian Culture as Kelly Dodd and Meghan King React

Katie Ginella called out the Real Housewives of Orange County cast on Saturday after learning that the ladies had traveled to Japan for their season 20 cast trip.

Months after the 41-year-old confirmed she was fired from the show after appearing on just two seasons, and as Kelly Dodd, 50, and Meghan King, 41, also weighed in, Katie accused the cast of having “zero respect” for Asian culture as she recalled wanting to take the women to her home country for her own cast trip and admitted to getting emotional over the news.

“Can you tell me if my tears are over-reacting? I just found out that the Real Housewives of Orange County confirmed that they went to Japan on their cast trip, and I can’t for the life of me figure out why they would go to a country where they have zero respect for Asian culture — most of them, not all of them,” Katie began in an April 25 post on Instagram.

According to Katie, she was told, “Nobody cares about race but you,” when she brought up Asian culture during her time on the Bravo series, and she remembered a moment in which her co-stars made fun of the foods and meats at a hotpot restaurant.

At the time, Katie said she was “introducing them” to a “culture that they obviously [didn’t] know anything about.”

“Everything was a joke to them,” she stated. “When I said that I wanted to highlight Asian designers and use this platform for good, I was told that it wasn’t enough. And anytime I wasn’t wearing an Asian designer, that was a big problem. I shared my story of adoption with them and how I wanted to go to Korea, possibly with them, to highlight Asian, especially Korean, culture.”

Because she’d previously spoken of traveling to Asia, Katie said that learning about the news of the women visiting Japan “stung.”

“It broke me. It made me cry. And it’s not because I need to be there or need to be with those ladies. It’s because of what that trip represents,” she explained. “I deserved respect, I deserved inclusion, I deserved a place there, and every minority does, especially now when they’re being targeted in our country.”

“Being fired was not fun. It was hard because it was something I didn’t choose, but I’m moving on, bigger and better. My life is so much more peaceful, but seeing this news really devastated me,” she concluded.

Meanwhile, in the comments section of her post, Katie suggested she would soon come forward with stories of racism from the RHOC women.

“I’m three seconds from telling the entire internet all the racist things they said to you that DIDN’T air,” wrote attorney Kathleen Martinez, who has previously been linked to the show.

“I”m ready to tell the Beyonce story,” Katie replied.

Also in the comments section, Kelly complained about the commute to Japan.

“Bro going to Japan for four days is a nightmare! I’ve been there 25 times. And lived in Hong Kong. The jet lag is real. Feel sorry for them,” she shared.

Then, added Meghan, “I’m sorry, you don’t deserve to be slighted and you don’t deserve what they made you feel. My heart goes out to you, I can’t imagine how this must feel.”

Elsewhere, photos and videos of the RHOC cast, including Vicki Gunvalson, 64, Tamra Judge, 58, Heather Dubrow, 67, Shannon Beador, 62, Emily Simpson, 50, and Gina Kirschenheiter, 41, in Tokyo hit the web, prompting fans to speak out.

“[RHOC] spotted filming at a Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo,” Sutton’s Roller on X captioned a video of the women in Japanese-inspired dress.

“This is embarrassing and disrespectful of Japanese culture. Only young girls dress like this in Japan,” someone replied.

Dorinda Deadly then shared a couple of pics.

“The fact that the cast trip is conveniently to Japan the season after the only Asian cast member in the franchise’s history was not asked to return is very telling,” one person commented.

Another added, “Racism Loading…”

The Real Housewives of Orange County season 20 is expected to begin airing on Bravo sometime later this year.
