There has been a ton of drama on the first season of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
Recently, star Rosie DiMare sat down to address some of the biggest pieces of recent drama, including rumors that Kelsey Swanson was not dating the man she claimed she was on the show.
When appearing on The Viall Files podcast, Rosie noted that things said at a scene where the women were at a picnic about Kelsey “going through a really hard time” didn’t make sense due to what the women knew of Kelsey’s life.
“Like suddenly you’re breaking up with your boyfriend and having to move out of his house, but you broke up with him two years ago,” she said, addressing a rumor that Kelsey and her man had ended things long before the show began.
“You moved out of his house two years ago,” she reiterated, noting the man’s “kids don’t seem to think she lives there. His ex-wife doesn’t think she lives there. The neighbors on the street don’t think she lives there. But we’re going to say she lives there.”
Rosie later noted that from what she was “hearing,” Kelsey and the man “broke up over two years ago.”
“She moved in with Billy, the new boyfriend we’re pretending she like barely knows,” she elaborated. “But… I was under the impression she had moved out of this house and that she had broken up with this older man two years ago to be with Billy, and that there was some overlap before that. I didn’t fully get it until I saw it. And I was like, that’s it, like that’s what you’re trying to hide. It just makes perfect sense now.”
As for if he still pays for everything for Kelsey, Rosie admitted that “might actually be true” and she “wouldn’t put that past her.”
“All I know is she wasn’t really living in the house, and she wasn’t really dating the older man, but I think that’s a much better story to pitch,” she said.

Rosie also addressed rumors she had an affair with a basketball coach, which she unequivocally denied.
“Yeah, it’s a whole thing,” she shared. “I’ve never met him. It’s been four years, not one picture has surfaced. I actually emailed his team probably like 10 times over the course of the summer. And I was like, ‘Can you please release a statement saying we’ve never met? Because I don’t know you.'”
She said the rumors sprouted up when she went on medical leave in 2023, and the coach was allegedly having an affair with a student reporter, which somehow eventually changed into a rumor about him and a traffic reporter, aka Rosie.
“I can promise we’ve never met,” Rosie stated.
She also addressed her relationship with Jo-Ellen Tiberi, stating they’re “fine.”
“If I need to be the butt of her joke, like that’s fine. It doesn’t make me want to like warm up to her more or like go out to lunch,” she added.
