Brittany Cartwright opened up about her decision to give financial assistance to ex-boyfriend Brandon Hanson during their relationship amid a podcast appearance last week.

After she was seen offering Brandon money on The Valley, which saw him seemingly dropping the ball on helping her recover from her mommy makeover, Brittany, 37, revealed the real reason she paid Brandon while also confirming whether she’d do it again and admitting to feeling guilty about taking him away from his kids.

“It wasn’t like I was paying him to be my boyfriend or anything crazy,” Brittany clarified during the June 15 episode of Access Hollywood’s Reality Nightcap.

According to Brittany, to spend time with her, Brandon had to take off work.

“He had his kids half the time. So he wouldn’t work on certain days, and then he worked a full-time job. So to come be with me on weekends and stuff like that, he was having to take off a lot of work, and he has three beautiful children, and I am just a very caring and kind of like a maternal person so I didn’t want those kids to go without anything,” she explained. “It was more about that than anything else. It was like, okay, he’s taking off, he’s coming down here, he is filming sometimes, so I just felt bad if he couldn’t pay his bills or something, it would affect his kids, and that is the reason that I did that so easily.”

That said, she added, “But I will never do that again.”

Brittany went on to say that she was simply a giving person.

“I didn’t grow up always having a lot of money or anything, so like being able to help people, I’ve just always been that person. [Zack Wickham] even talks about how I helped him. I’ve helped a lot of my friends,” she shared. “That’s just the type of person I am, and I don’t want to change that about myself, but maybe in a relationship.”

Looking back, Brittany said it was easy for her to offer Brandon money because they’d known one another for “so long.”

“It’s not like I thought he was a bad person. We were such good friends,” she revealed.

As The Valley fans may recall, Brittany reconnected with Brandon amid her divorce from Jax Taylor, 46, and as Brandon went through his own split.

“He was in that place in his life, and I was in this place in my life, and I kind of understood it a little bit, going through divorces and custody and going back and forth with the kids. I just kind of felt guilty taking him away from any of that,” she concluded.
