The Valley Recap: Kristen Tells Janet She Doesn’t Like Her and Calls Her “Mean” as Lala Celebrates 7 Years of Sobriety, Danny Gets a Vasectomy, and Zack Faces Backlash for Unfollowing Janet

The whole Mexico thing has left Danny baffled and Nia wonders why “friends” would act like that…but then again, are they even really their friends? On this episode of The Valley, Jasmine preps for her wedding and Danny preps for his vasectomy, as Janet STILL wonders why she can’t make amends with Zack and Kristen.

Jasmine goes wedding dress shopping with Zack, Brittany, and her mother. She is stoked that she has found Melissa and now it is starting to hit her that, omg, she is getting married. Zack points out that he has been with Jasmine since forever, so now that she has found the love of her life, it is an amazing thing to witness.

Jasmine admits she has been overwhelmed by dress shopping and she opens up about her mom accepting the fact that she will be marrying a woman. Jasmine is thrilled to experience this with her mom and is pumped for the upcoming engagement party. Good thing Danny is “getting his balls chopped off” -aka getting a vasectomy-the day of the party.

Luke claims that partying in Mexico wiped him out.  This is music to Kristen’s ears, but what Jesse told her still isn’t sitting right.  She wonders if Luke even wants to be her husband.  Kristen reminds Luke that he asked her to marry him, so where does that leave them? Luke admits that things feel a lot different now than when he proposed and some of the sacrifices are kicking Luke’s a*s. Luke wants them to get their footing as a couple before they start planning a wedding…so luckily they will be doing therapy together.

Lala is having a hard time. She has been with Lily, her dog, since she was 20 years old. Lily was always there for Lala and gave her purpose.  But now, her body has given up on her and things have been emotional.  Kristen comes over to talk about dog stuff, momma stuff, and Mexico stuff.

The last night in Mexico was very chaotic.  Lala questions how Kristen can defend Danny after he told her “why don’t you go to your husband.” Kristen remains in her bubble and can’t deal with other people’s sh*t, considering she is in the thick of her own stuff. Lala lets Kristen know that she has to try and find time to be with her friends.  Lala will be celebrating her 7 year sobriety and so she invites Kristen to get out for a bit.

Danny has Jesse, Schwartz, and Luke over to say bon voyage to his balls. Danny admits that he likes to be cared for and since Nia is not even home as he goes through this procedure (she will be judging Miss USA), his anxiety is through the roof.

As the guys sit down and eat, they discuss Mexico. Jesse says he saw Janet’s vulnerability when she opened up about her past trauma, but he wonders why she wouldn’t say that from the beginning. Danny denies everything and defends himself, considering Janet has changed the pantry story over and over.  He believes that Janet is projecting her own hurt on him.  Jesse would prefer Janet not get as defensive, but Schwartz does not like how quickly the others dismiss her trauma.

Later, Danny is mourning his testicle and he brings Zack along for the ride. The procedure lasted 7 and a half minutes. And Danny yelled for an epidural.

It’s Lala’s sober birthday. Reaching 7 years of sobriety fills Lala with pride. On one hand, she is celebrating, but on the other hand she is emotional because she had to put Lily the dog down. Lala changes the subject and reminds Zack that her favorite part of Mexico was his birthday. She also loved rooming with the girls. Janet points out that Michelle and Lacy actually got along and Janet is now friendly with her.

Speaking of friendliness, at the airport on the way home, Zack followed Janet.  But then the minute he got home, he unfollowed her.  Zack claims he has always wanted to move forward with Janet, but he thinks she has put up multiple roadblocks.  Michelle points out that there is more fun between Janet and Zack when no one else is around.

When Janet wonders what she has done to Kristen in the past year, Kristen states she doesn’t trust Janet and does not even think that she knows her.  Kristen claims that if the version of Janet that she was once friends with still existed, she would be friends with her. Lala thinks that Kristen only remains friends with Danny and Nia because of the fan comments. Kristen does not believe that the group is shattered, but Michelle and Janet think otherwise.

Brittany has taken the lead on Jasmine and Melissa’s engagement party.  Despite going through her divorce, she is thrilled to celebrate the love of the couple. Lala points out that she has yet to get an answer from Kristen or Zack on what makes them so mad at Janet and Janet believes that she has done everything she can, so she would rather just keep the peace.

Lacy chats with Kristen about Janet.  Janet is still unclear what she did to Kristen in the past year, but Lacy points out that one could argue, what did Danny do to Janet in the past year? It’s odd to Kristen that Janet’s trauma and triggers are now coming out timing wise…

Janet joins Jesse and shares that she thinks Lacy brings out the best in him. Jesse is thrilled that everyone is trying to get to know Lacy.  Janet then apologizes for being petty towards Lacy, but Jesse wonders if this is a truly sincere conversation. Janet even goes as far as trying to plan a double-date.  How about baby steps?

The happiest and best version of Jasmine can be found the minute Melissa came into her life.  Jasmine refers to Melissa as the perfect human who loves her no matter what. She is thrilled to be spending her life with Melissa and the episode ends without someone saying Danny’s name…
