Jason Caperna responded to criticism after accidentally touching a woman who was not his wife, Janet Caperna, on last week’s finale episode of The Valley.
As Janet, 36, seemingly threw shade at Jax Taylor, 47, over his bogus partnership with Smartwater, which he claimed was an “honest mistake,” Jason, 42, posted a couple of responses to a Bravo viewer on Instagram, who wondered how he could’ve confused the unnamed woman for his wife.
“You literally said ‘I thought you were Janet, that’s why I was all up on you.’ She looks nothing like your wife, were you drunk?” the person asked, as seen in a screenshot shared on X.
“Nope, it was a [one] Coors Light night …couldn’t risk losing my balance with the bum a** leg and all,” Jason replied, giving a nod to the shade Danny Booko, 42, threw at him amid his tiff with Janet.
“And you mistook another woman as your wife? Two different hair styles, and different outfits. Wild you did that sober,” the person pressed further.
“I’m a wild and crazy guy,” Jason wrote back.
After Jason posted a promo for the finale episode of The Valley on Instagram, he was met with shade from his online audience.

“Just got done watching. Seems a bit double-standard how you just SA’d that chick pressing you body against hers in a sexual manner and yet like, ‘[Oops] my mistake sorry,’ and get to move on with your life. Whilst Danny has apologized numerous times to Jasmine and yet you and Janet just keep coming for him about it. And then for Janet to assault him like that. Just crazy how you and Janet think you’re above people. It’s disgusting,” one person wrote of Jason’s antics on the episode, as compared to Danny’s inappropriate season two touching of Jasmine Goode, 38, and now-wife Melissa Marie.
“Who was that woman you rubbed yourself up against that night without consent?” asked someone else.

Another called out Janet and Jason’s hypocrisy, writing, “You guys are TOTAL HYPOCRITES AND DESERVE ONE ANOTHER,” likely referencing Janet’s assault of Danny on the finale, which saw her throwing a drink at him.
Meanwhile, on Janet’s Instagram page, she appeared to react to Jax’s sponsorship controversy.
“Staying hydrated this summer,” she wrote in the caption of a photo of herself holding a bottle of water, also including hashtags for “water” and “water partner.”
As fans may have seen, Jax claimed to have accepted what he thought was a legitimate campaign from a third party before posting about Smartwater at the end of last month on Instagram.
Then, after Brittany Cartwright, 37, called him out and poked fun at the mixup, he shaded her for not respecting him.
“What’s been the most upsetting is seeing an honest mistake become pure entertainment in an attempt to humiliate me. My ex-wife chose to publicly mock me and embarrass me instead of handling it privately. Regardless of where we stand personally, we’re still the parents of a young child, and there should be a certain level of respect,” he wrote in a statement.
