Shamea Morton reacted after Andy Cohen shared more details on why she wasn’t asked to be full-time on Real Housewives of Atlanta sooner. Porsha Williams then called Shamea a “LIAR,” as fans accused Porsha of trying to get Shamea “fired.”
Last month, in a resurfaced video, Kenya Moore seemingly confirmed Shamea’s claim that Porsha didn’t really want Shamea, her then-BFF, to join the show as a full-time castmate, as Porsha apparently wanted to be the show’s “queen.” In the new season, both Porsha and Shamea have shared alleged family secrets against the other.
On SiriusXM’s Radio Andy, Andy shared his talk with Shamea and her husband Gerald Mwangi (who hasn’t filmed much in the new season) at the RHUGT premiere party.
“Shamea was there, and Porsha and Shamea’s husband. And so [Shamea and Porsha] kind of stayed clear of each other,” he said, via @nochaser_tv on Instagram. “I was talking to Shamea and her husband. And there’s been so much talk about Porsha. The narrative has been that Porsha didn’t want Shamea to come on as a housewife.”
“But I was saying to Shamea and Gerald, I said, ‘You know, Shamea, something that’s not been discussed much – which, to me, was always the big barrier of you joining the show – was that Gerald wanted nothing to do with it. And he didn’t want you shooting at your house, Sterling Hall.”
Andy said this was “part of” the reason why Shamea wasn’t a full-time castmate sooner.
“And I was saying to Gerald, ‘You know, when you show up, it’s really great,'” Andy recalled. “And it was nice. I had never met him.”
At one point in a comment, Shamea addressed the situation.
“My husband has never had a problem with me filming at our home or with our children. He just never wanted to be on the show,” she said.
Porsha soon gave her response.
“Now you’re implying Andy is lying for the second time,” claimed Porsha. “1st Andy already confirmed that I tried for YEARS to get you on RHOA as a full-time Housewife. 2nd Andy is saying that the REAL reason, which hasn’t been discussed until now, is that Gerald didn’t want you filming in the home. Yet here you are saying that Andy is lying again. You are the LIAR steady stirring FALSE NARRATIVES.”
Fans then reacted to Porsha’s claims.
“Porsha trying her best to get [Shamea] off the show lol,” said one fan, via @theneighborhoodtalk on Instagram.
“I LIKE SHAMEA and it’s NOT changing,” said another.
“She’s trying to get Andy to not to like her,” wrote a third.
“Did this really need a comment from Porsha?” asked a different user. “She working overtime to paint Shamea a certain way, baby clock out.”
“She’s trying her best to get her fired 😂,” wrote another.
Around the same time, Gerald also spoke out: “It was great meeting @bravoandy last night. I have always supported my wife and children being on the show as well as them filming in our home. I will continue to support her.”
Shamea responded, “Thanks babe. ❤️ Last night was a time 💃🏾.”
