Gia Giudice offered an update on her father, Joe Giudice, during a TV interview on Wednesday.
After both she and Joe, 54, reached out to President Donald Trump, 80, in hopes of having him allowed back in the U.S. following his 2019 deportation to his native Italy, the 25-year-old daughter of Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice, 54, and cast member of Next Gen NYC revealed how Joe was doing and explained that she’d recently filed a “humanitarian packet” on his behalf.
“He’s doing great. I’m actually going to see him on Tuesday. He’s in the Bahamas,” Gia revealed on Good Day NY on August 12.
“We just filed a humanitarian packet for him, just kind of trying to do everything we can to get him pardoned and hopefully come back, or even just on visitation. We’re still actively working through that and trying everything we can. I mean, I think any family would want their dad home. Any daughter or child would want their father home. So still actively doing whatever we can.”
At the end of June 2025, Joe requested a pardon from the president on Instagram.
“I’m Joe Giudice. I served my time, and I’ve been deported from the U.S. for nearly a decade,” he wrote in his message. “I was raised in Jersey, I’m a father of four amazing daughters, and I just want to be allowed to visit them again. President Trump, I respect you, and I’m asking for a second chance.”
The following month, after being inspired by Trump’s pardoning of Chrisley Knows Best‘s Todd, 57, and Julie Chrisley, 53, Gia shared her own message on Instagram.
“Watching the Chrisley family receive a second chance inspired me. It showed me that people can be forgiven, that families can be restored, and that sometimes the justice system has room for grace,” she said. “That gave me hope. Hope that maybe my dad could come home, too.”
After receiving backlash over her video, which was shared on July 4, and facing claims of acting “privileged,” Gia reacted to the shade on her podcast, Casual Chaos.
“I had shipped out those letters on Thursday, right before I went down the shore,” she explained. “I did not intend to post it on the Fourth of July. That was just not my intention at all. I have so much respect for my country, and I was not trying to show any privilege or entitlement.”
