A lot of the drama on this season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta has surrounded Angela Oakley bringing up rumors about Shamea Morton and her neighborAshley Byrom‘s, husband George.

On the show, Angela, 45, questioned Shamea, 44, over allegations that Shamea had slept with George. This led to explosive drama and Shamea serving Angela with a cease-and-desist order.

For her part, Ashley took to social media to share a screenshot of Ring doorbell camera footage and audio from an event her husband threw in an effort to prove that Angela was not “vindicated” as she had claimed to be.

In the wake of all the drama, Angela sat down with Gabbing With Gib to discuss the situation.

“We’re neighbors,” Angela said of Ashley. “We share a lawn, right? Like our kids, we talk. You know, I like them. They have donated to our foundation twice. I invited them to Bravo events, and all of that.”

“So, I called her because at one of the charity events that he donated to – which is not the charity event that people are talking about –he donated to my husband’s foundation,” she continued. “And so, I felt like it was necessary for me to at least call his wife and say, ‘Hey, he said some things and I may have to bring it up.’ And I was like, ‘Do you…’ – and it wasn’t trying to be nefarious, it was just… this Housewives. Like, if this girl keeps talking about me, I’m going to say something.”

Angela noted when she spoke with Ashley, she didn’t seem to care if George was brought up, and insisted there was an “eagerness” for her to bring it up.

Later, Angela claimed she “did not lie” about George.

“I asked a question, same as Shamea asking Drew, ‘Did she mess with Dennis?'” she said. “You know what I mean? Like, it’s Housewives. We can get in the mud, and move on.”

As far as the ring camera footage, Angela said she doesn’t know “what it’s supposed to tell you.”

“Like, even in the episode, I’m like, ‘I went next door,'” she elaborated. “And if I went next door, you threw me under the damn bus. You know what I mean? Like… I don’t know what she’s trying to say. Uh, however, girl, I had to be quiet cause people came into my DMs last time and was like, ‘Angela, shut up.’ Like, ‘Just stop. Shut up.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay, I’m quiet.’ But yeah, it’s like, what are you trying to prove? I thought we were friends. They donated to our foundation in December after… this was done. So, I still thought we were cool. Not friends, I don’t use that word loosely, but…”

Angela noted on Halloween their kids were trick-or-treating.

‘When I went over there, it was just like, ‘Are we good?'” she shared. “You know what I mean? Like, ‘Are we cool?’ You know, I definitely – and I said it there, I have never tried to disrespect his wife. Hence, the initial phone call. Like, ‘What’s going on? Like… Do you think I’m trying to hurt you, or break up, or do anything?’ Because I called you first. And so it was like, ‘We’re cool.’ And for me to see the doubling down after the episode, ‘Angela lied, you set Shamea up’ – I was like, ‘Oh, this is… this is too much.’ Cause you already know that’s not what this is.”

“You took this as though I tried to interrupt your marriage when I gave you the common courtesy and I set that call to you like, ‘Hey, girl…you know, if this comes up, how do you feel about it?'” she added. “And you took that to say that I wanted tea on her when I asked you, ‘Do you know her?’ I knew your husband knew her, but I didn’t know if you knew her. And your answer was no. So, I left it…”

The RHOA three-part reunion is set to premiere August 9 at 8:00 p.m. ET on Bravo, and fans can expect that this drama will be brought up.
