Dorit Kemsley had a small legal victory, as her estranged husband, PK Kemsley, lost an emergency motion to list their $6 million mansion. Meanwhile, attorney Ronald Richards shared more details on the ruling.
Amid their contentious divorce, Dorit and PK‘s shared home is reportedly behind on payments and bills. Reports also surfaced that the house was on the verge of foreclosure, as the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star went shopping in France.
According to TMZ, Dorit had a small legal victory over PK.
Sources told the outlet that there was a hearing on August 14, after PK filed an emergency motion to put their mansion, where Dorit is living with their children, on the market.
In court, Dorit’s attorney Samantha Spector argued that there is no emergency. The court concurred. An August 26 hearing on the issue was scheduled, and the judge at that time will address the issue again.
In the past, the outlet reported that PK has been taking steps to make Dorit sell the property, claiming it’s at risk of foreclosure. But Dorit claimed PK has plenty of money to get their bills and payments up to date.
PK said he stopped paying the bills after his move into his own place. He also slammed her choice to allegedly spend almost $1 million on travel and clothes as she ignored the mortgage.
Dorit claimed that he should pay the bills because he isn’t giving her formal spousal or child support. As of now, their home won’t be put on the market.
That same day, attorney Ronald Richards shared more details on the emergency motion.
“Paul [PK] rushed to court today to force Dorit to sign a listing agreement to sell the house. The judge would not even take any argument as they already have a hearing on the 26th,” wrote the attorney on X. “The foreclosure sale is set for the 18th of August. Paul had no chance of winning this motion. He wasted $25k in legal fees.”
“Dorit won a pyric victory because the auction date remains,” he continued. “Dorit’s refusal to sign the deal means there is no deal. Why Paul is trying to force her to sell a house she doesn’t want to sell is baffling? LET THE HOUSE GO. Dorit does not deserve to keep it. Enough is enough. Someone needs to talk some sense into them.”
