Tamra Judge addressed some ongoing chatter about this season of the Real Housewives of Orange County being lackluster because she’s “not activated.” She also addressed a claim that Heather Dubrow’s orange should be “taken away,” and she hinted at whether Housewives should be allowed back after jail.
Last week, insiders told Reality Blurb that the new season is lacking because Tamra is holding back (unlike most seasons that she’s been on). One of the few fights she had was with Heather, over whether Heather is actually her real friend.
On Two Ts in a Pod, Tamra reacted to the criticism that this season of the RHOC has been lacking because she’s not “activated” this year as she opened up about why she’s much calmer.
“Let’s talk about ‘not activated Tamra,'” said Tamra. “I got my a** chewed up last year at the reunion. I was left insanely depressed for weeks because I was accused of all these things. I was not in a good place in my life, and I’m being accused of leaking stories… Being left there crying, and everybody goes to dinner with the freaking enemy basically. And I don’t even care if she didn’t go. Just the fact that there was no invitation. Nobody invited me.”
She continued, “And there was one person that came to my dressing room afterward that consoled me. Katie [Ginella]. And then after that, Alex Baskin.”
Tamra made it clear that the fan feedback is confusing as she seems to get backlash when she’s activated, but then some viewers complain the show is boring when she’s not stirring things up.
“For me, it was just such confusion. Like, am I too much? Now I’m not enough. Be softer. Be kinder. Do this. Do that,” she shared. “But I will say not bringing up certain things or not going too deep or too hard, it was a very easy season for me. It was a very fun season for me. Do I think that I’m the most entertaining? I don’t know. I get DMs that we miss you, we miss the way you were.”
“You can feel the other girls starting to feel the pressure to step up and do their job. And some of them aren’t doing it right. I’m just saying,” added her co-host, Teddi Mellencamp.
“It’s just very confusing to me. Like, I just feel like I’m just not good enough, no matter which way I go, I’m not good enough,” Tamra added.
Teddi then hinted at how things are going with her new guy, who Teddi recently posted on social media.
“Guys, if I’m not reporting anything on it, it means it’s good,” said Teddi.
“Does he want kids?” asked Tamra.
“We don’t talk about it,” Teddi answered.
At one point in the episode, Tamra addressed the claim that Heather’s orange should be “taken away.”
“I don’t agree with that,” said Tamra. “She is so needed on the show for so many reasons: She’s our fancy one. Also [she] has really started, I think, especially this season, opening up more.”
Later on, Tamra addressed if Housewives should be allowed back on the show after going to jail.
“Of course they are!” said Tamra. “They get raises!”
Tamra was perhaps alluding to Teresa Giudice and Luann de Lesseps, who continued on the franchise after getting released from jail.
For the last two years, Tamra was criticized for going too hard at Shannon Beador, her former friend. Though she apologized repeatedly, Tamra recently called out Shannon’s drinking again on Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, leading some to believe that her apologies weren’t real.
New episodes of The Real Housewives of Orange County air Thursday nights on Bravo and the next day on Peacock.
