Shannon Beador sat down with Vicki Gunvalson to discuss her finances on last week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County, confirming that she spends more than $37,000 a month.

As Vicki, 64, attempted to get her to a better place amid her growing debt, Shannon, 62, broke down her expenses, including the $10,500 in rent she pays each month for the Corona Del Mar home, where she’s been living since 2023.

“I give money to my kids,” Shannon admitted in a confessional as a graphic confirmed Shannon was spending $20,000 per month on her daughter Sophie Beador, 24, and twins Stella and Adeline Beador, 22.

The graphic also revealed Shannon was spending $3,000 for Uber, over $900 for healthcare, and $3,500 for her utilities and renters insurance.

“I just want to pay the money that I owe for taxes and everything. Like, I want to be squared up,” Shannon explained.

According to Vicki, Shannon needed to keep a closer eye on her bank statements.

“I’d manage it tightly,” Vicki stated. “That’s why I’ve been able to have three houses.”

“I have to be better at it,” Shannon agreed.

Vicki went on to tell Shannon that her $10,500 a month in rent is “not in [her] budget,” but Shannon made it clear she did not want to move.

“It’s just, I love it here,” she noted. “It makes me happy.”

Also on the episode, Vicki admitted she was concerned about Shannon’s future as her support from David Beador, 61, died down.

“Shannon is not frugal. And if this job ends, and David’s child support ends, then what?” Vicki wondered. “I’m going to be there for her to help her, but I’m not going to give her money. I love Shannon, but she can’t come live with me.”

After a clip from the scene was shared on Instagram by Hayu, RHOC fans weighed in.

“10k a month on rent that’s crazy to me,” one person said.

“If she’s paying that much because she likes her house on the beach, she could buy a condo on the beach for like 3,000 a month in mortgage,” another advised.

“Am wondering why she doesn’t own her home? All that money on rent, surely she could use that on her own place?” asked a third.

“How is she struggling financially?” someone else wondered. “She has to be making 7 figures from the show, and that should just be extra money. I hope she’s not depending on the show to pay her bills.”

Others said that they thought Shannon was “next level rich” and questioned, “What happened?”

“Shannon is used to a certain lifestyle that’s hard to give up,” another commenter stated.

As RHOC fans may recall, Shannon admitted to creating debt when she launched Real for Real, a line of prepared food, in 2018.

“I have created some debt … I put all my savings into Real for Real. Unfortunately, I had to shut my company down,” she explained. “When I look back, I think, ‘I could have had a house. I could have invested in multiple other companies.’ My life would be different.”

The Real Housewives of Orange County season 20 airs Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
