Seth Marks is speaking out as his son, Brooks Marks, faces backlash over the recent reveal of his highly anticipated clothing line.
After the 27-year-old Next Gen NYC cast member, whom Seth, 54, shares with Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Meredith Marks, 54, released a collection of sweatshirts, sweatpants, and sweatshorts, all in solid colors, Brooks’ line was described as “dull” and “boring,” leading both Seth and his wife to clap back.
“Meredith Marks got scammed by her son, because you’re telling me Brooks Marks took years to develop a line, and this is what he came up with, looking like some dull Teletubby with a backwards snuggie on? And this is what he took time on? This is why he couldn’t model for Shai, because he was developing this collection? Insane,” Dustin Cone declared in a video shared on Instagram on August 27, noting that Brooks’ collection was downright “bad.”
As the video continued, Dustin said he had the same sweater and had gotten it from Jamby’s.
“Meredith, please, get your money back,” he added.

After the video was shared, Seth weighed in with a lengthy statement, defending Brooks’ designs and explaining what made them so special.
“I’m a little behind on the [Next Gen NYC] episodes (planning to binge them) but I’m not sure they captured the patented material he created, so let me say it properly … This tracksuit is made from TerryLite™, a proprietary fabric Brooks Marks developed. It’s lighter, stretchier, more breathable, and way more elevated than your average terry cloth. The detail is subtle, but it is there, and it makes the whole thing feel different,” Seth revealed.
“I’m super proud of him for developing protectable intellectual property that, above all, can be worn by anyone. From my POV, fashion does not always need to be a runway fantasy that not everybody can wear. It can be for real life: airports, errands, couch days, travel days, late nights, and everything in between. No gender. No rules. Just good humans with positive vibes who want to look good and wear something that feels as good as his mom looks,” he added, tagging Meredith in his post.

Meanwhile, on Threads on August 28, one woman said, “Brooks Marks collection of sweatsuits is just a boring as he is,” prompting Meredith to speak out.
“Well I am sure you are a super interesting person since your claim to fame is ‘blocked by Paige DeSorbo,'” Meredith replied. “From what I can see you don’t really look like as fashion icon yourself while judging Brooks’ collection but [Paige DeSorbo] actually is one.”

Brooks’ line of sweatclothes runs from $68 to $92, and he also offers a matching sweat tote for $46, or all four colors of the complete line for $1,398.

Next Gen NYC season two airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
