Seth Rogen reacted amid backlash over his recent photo with West Wilson. The actor suggested he doesn’t “condone” West’s actions, but he argued that West’s controversy is “pretty minor.”

Earlier this year, West and Amanda Batula confirmed their romance, which they’d been hiding from Ciara Miller, who was Amanda’s best friend and West’s ex. Amid the controversy, West and Amanda exited Summer House, though they may still film for In the City.

After Seth snapped a pic of himself and West at the Creative Arts Emmys, some fans were surprised, given West’s actions. Some even suggested that the whole thing was disgusting and offensive.

“Just because I take a picture with a reality star, I do not condone their actions,” said Seth in an interview with E! News. “I view these people as characters on a TV show I like, and I don’t always agree with what they’re doing.”

“But I most appreciate the fact that I like the show,” Seth went on. “That being said, there are some reality people I would not take a picture with at all. But I don’t know. I was in a good mood in that moment. I was excited to see him.”

Seths said he would argue that, “of all the controversies on reality TV” these days, West’s is “pretty minor.”

Back in June, a source shared why West left the show.

“It was a mutual decision between the network and West,” said a source speaking to Us Weekly at the time. “It became even clearer that there wasn’t a long-term fit anymore. … He is at peace with the decision and is focusing on his podcast and other business ventures.”

“His goal was to be with Amanda and then just film with his friends,” the insider added. “He’s told producers that Lindsay [Hubbard] shouldn’t film pregnant and being a new mom because it’s a show about singles and having fun in the summer. Amanda knew about that and Lindsay was pissed. … There’s a tear in the friend group. The cast doesn’t want to film with him.”
