West Wilson has reportedly left his role on Summer House after just three seasons.
Amid his controversial romance with Amanda Batula, 34, which he debuted just months after she and Kyle Cooke, 43, announced their separation, and as he allegedly tried to work on his relationship with Ciara Miller, 30, and other women, it was revealed that West, 31, would not be returning to the show for its upcoming 11th season. And now, we are learning why.
“It was a mutual decision between the network and West,” a source told Us Weekly on June 16.
According to the report, West was “already feeling like his time on the show was coming to an end” as he walked into the reunion taping last month, and once it aired, his future was all but decided.
“It became even clearer that there wasn’t a long-term fit anymore,” the source shared. “He is at peace with the decision and is focusing on his podcast and other business ventures.”
A second source told the outlet that West’s relationship with Amanda wasn’t the only factor in his departure. In addition to not showing “his personal life” and the women he was dating, including Meija Moreno, West allegedly “tried to get Kyle, [Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke] fired.”
“His goal was to be with Amanda and then just film with his friends,” the source claimed.
He also tried to make Kyle and Carl “look bad” and was critical of Lindsay’s decision to film season nine while pregnant.
“He’s told producers that Lindsay shouldn’t film pregnant and being a new mom because it’s a show about singles and having fun in the summer. Amanda knew about that and Lindsay was pissed,” the insider shared. “There’s a tear in the friend group. The cast doesn’t want to film with him.”
As for Amanda, who is “still friendly” with Jesse Solomon, 33, and Kyle, her future on the show is “still up in the air” as she remains estranged from the rest of the cast.
Regarding West and Amanda’s romance, the source said Kyle and Lindsay, 39, have “joked” that they “are not going to last.”
“The cast basically has a countdown for when this will all blow up,” the insider revealed, adding that the couple is “still fully committed to each other.”
While things “haven’t been perfect,” and the reunion was “hard” on West and Amanda, who “didn’t feel supported” by West, which was a “huge point of contention,” they “feel they are in too deep for them to break up at this point.”
Summer House: The Aftermath airs tonight, June 16, at 8/7c on Bravo.
