Allie Eklund looked back on her relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Steven McBee Jr., on Gia Giudice‘s podcast.
As she also addressed potential regrets over her months-long relationship with Steven, 33, discussed her tallow business percentage drama with Kacie Adkison, 28, and explained her recent hangout with Southern Charm star Austen Kroll, 39, the 29-year-old McBee Dynasty star opened up about the hard part of being an influencer.
“After about a month of dating, I realized that the math wasn’t mathing,” Allie told Gia, 25, of when things took a turn with Steven on the September 21 episode of Casual Chaos. “Some things weren’t adding up, and naturally, I’m a curious person, and I had a lot of questions, and once I started asking questions, some things started coming to light and to the surface that validated that feeling.”
While Allie and Steven’s whirlwind romance was short-lived, she said she was someone who tried not to have regrets in life.
“I try not to regret anything and to take it for what it is and believe that everything happens for a reason. Everything is a learning lesson,” she reasoned.
Although Allie previously learned from a past relationship, where she and her partner “moved really quick,” she found herself torn when it came to Steven.
“Obviously, you fight that intuition, but then at the same time, from my past experiences, I’ve also learned there’s literally no rush, so I was fighting myself on trying not to rush but then also feeling like it was a fairytale and I just found this person that we aligned on so much I couldn’t believe that it was happening, and then come to find out, not everything is what it seems,” she recalled.
In addition to a messy split from Steven, which came as he accused her of cheating on him at the Stagecoach music festival, an accusation she denied, Allie also faced drama with Kacie as she attempted to take part in her tallow business.
“I wish that the percentage aspect wouldn’t have gotten brought into it. I wasn’t aware that [Steven] was bringing that to the table,” Allie revealed. “I believe it was because the business wasn’t profiting at the time maybe to where they could pay me, and he is generous and wanted to pay me for that time and all those things, but we just didn’t have enough conversations about it, bottom line.”
After conversations happened without her, Allie was able to sit down to discuss her potential role in Kacie’s company, but she quickly realized that there were “too many moving parts here.”
“I do believe in the business and the brand and what they had going on, and I think tallow is an incredible market and thing to get into. I believe in the product, but how it was being run, it wasn’t where I thought I would bring value,” she continued. “I planned a lot of shoots. I helped with strategy, with marketing, with social outreach, with ads, I helped in areas that I could.”
According to Allie, she believes the topic of percentage was jarring to Kacie.
“[She was] starting a business. That’s her baby … She didn’t know me. I didn’t know her. That’s happened in the past … with [Steven McBee Sr.] giving them percentages so I just think it was … It was just touchy verbiage,” she shared. “[And] there were conversations that just happened too soon, unfortunately, that I wasn’t aware of.”
Moving on to Austen, Allie explained why the two of them were recently seen together in Austin, Texas.
“He was in town, and he had an idea he wanted to run by me, just as friends. So we met up because of it, and everyone’s getting a kick out of it, which is totally understandable,” she admitted.
Also on the epsiode, Allie spoke of the hard work that goes into making a living on social media.
“I recently started running socials for our family brands, which is about six accounts … I’m not getting paid for these accounts, obviously. When you do business with family of course there’s blurred lines there, and my dad asks me everyday why our business accounts don’t have a million followers,” she revealed. “I’m like, ‘I just started them two weeks ago.’”
“There is so much that goes into this that is so hard to explain to people … It is so difficult, which is why I’m thankful for my business background and my experiences, and honestly, my team. I truly have built such an incredible team over the years … I have a team of 13 now so it is a full-blown business. We run it like one and I think that’s the difference in where I am today,” she added.
No word yet on a fourth season of The McBee Dynasty.
