Jacqueline Laurita’s daughter Ashlee Holmes spoke out against Danielle Staub years after their shocking fight on Real Housewives of New Jersey. The 35-year-old called out Danielle’s “lies” and suggested she has “mental illness.”
In a past season, Jacqueline was feuding with Danielle when Ashlee, a then-teenager, got involved and pulled Danielle’s hair. The moment was one of the most infamous fights on RHONJ. A few months ago, Ashlee commented on a clip of Danielle’s claims about the incident, as Ashley alleged that none of it was true. (In the past, Danielle has claimed that the hair pull caused her to have three herniated discs.)
“I honestly have been very quiet when it comes to [Danielle] for the last … at least five years,” said Ashlee on her cousin Albie Manzo‘s Dear Albie podcast. “I really haven’t said anything. [But] sometimes if you catch me in a mood … like I caught the [recent] clip and it was literally just all lies.”
“And I was just like, ‘This is a lie. Like, all of this is not true,'” Ashley went on. “Sometimes I just feel that compulsion to say it. But usually I’ll just let her be. Because you know what it is, as I’ve gotten older — and this might come off as like a dig, but I do feel this way — I do think she has some sort of mental illness or mental health issue.”
Ashlee said she thinks Danielle believes her own lies.
“I genuinely think she believes things happen a certain way,” said Ashlee. “And just the way things have like progressed. Even the story she tells about the night I pulled her hair. [Leading up to that moment, things] progressively got worse.”
Back in 2020, Danielle alleged that the physical altercation led to medical issues.
“I had my hair that is connected to these beads in my extensions, at least five of those extensions, which is a handful of hair, pulled completely from my scalp, had four stitches in my scalp as a result of it, my head hit the pavement as a result of it,” said Danielle at the time on RHONJ: After Show. “I have six herniated discs, three of which happened that night as a result of it.”
