The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice‘s family has been going through some tough times lately with her daughter Milania.

As fans following her story know, Milania, 20, was arrested this year, lost her best friend, and had an incident at the Tampa International Airport where she ran away from Teresa, 54, her sister Gia, 25, and a counselor.

Milania recently opened up about what’s going on in her life, revealing she is bipolar.

Gia sat down with Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea to talk about her sister and what she’s going through.

“We’ve been going through things, and I just want to say that I’m incredibly proud of my sister Milania,” Gia stated.

She went on to note how if her father, Joe Giudice, 56, who was deported in 2019, were allowed to return to the United States, it could be “incredibly healing to all of us”

Gia also opened up about having to be a motherly figure to her sisters when Teresa first went away to prison.

“It started when I was so young. I was put into this position in eighth grade where when my mom went away, and so… I was 13, 14, and I really had to be that mom to my sisters,” she said. “ So, you know, even now sometimes they get annoyed with me like, you’re not my mom. I’m like, oh, I will always be another mom, another mommy to you…I am very mothering, I’m nurturing, and that’s just always been a part of me since I was 13, 14. So, I think every situation kind of shapes you into the person that you are.”

Teresa was recently spotted with Donald Trump‘s aide Lynne Patton, which got people speculating about a presidential pardon for Joe.

Gia explained that she and Teresa were invited by Donald and his wife, Melania, to attend the White House’s Italian-American heritage celebration for Columbus Day.

She noted that they went to the event so that they could “explore” options for Joe.

“It was a very amazing trip,” she noted. “It was truly inspiring, and I think it just gave me more motivation to want to fight even harder to get my dad back.”

“Respectfully, I don’t care who is in office if somebody will listen and somebody will maybe grant my father [permission] to come back here in some capacity, whether it’s a visa or whether it’s a pardon,” she elaborated.

Gia also asked people listening to “pray for [their] family to be united again.”
